Spark by Hilton Mystic Groton

Checked in late in the evening (9:00 pm) because we needed some sleep. Hilton is a name that we trust for consistency across the brand. As a Hilton Honors member, I requested a discount on the nightly pet fee ($75) since we checked in so late. I was told that they could not, because it covered the cost for a "deep clean" of pet friendly rooms. Well, the room we were given had not been deep cleaned, because the carpet felt sticky and the room had an odor. The room was so small, my husband and I had to step to the side for each other to move about. There was a continental breakfast in the morning for guests that was typical for a budget hotel. Great location next to the Mystic aquarium and shops with easy highway access. The hotel seemed like a converted older motel, so it has a unique layout. The room was huge and everything worked fine. It wasn't the cleanest, but for the price I paid, it was exactly what I expected. Good value for money.

Such a convenient location and a great price! A standard basic hotel located within 20 mins of Foxwoods and Mohegan Sun. 5 minutes from Old Mystic Village and 7 minutes from Mystic Aquarium. The price was excellent compared to the other surrounding hotels. My room was clean and the hotel felt safe. HBO was included so we were able to enjoy it. The bed was very comfortable and so were the pillows. The thermostat was easy to use and worked quickly to adjust to what we wanted. The front desk gave me water bottles and the service was super helpful. The free wifi was fast. The free breakfast surprised me! Horrible experience! SPEND A LITTLE MORE AND STAY SOMEWHERE BETTER! Its an old run down motel with fresh paint and newer furniture. Situated in a trailer park. The staff is horrible, the hallways smell like Marijuana, cigarettes and hallways lined with garbage. We booked four nights. It was so loud at night time from the rooms above us and next to us that we could not sleep good not even one night we were there, Which Left us extremely tired each day. We notified staff every night several times about the music and yelling from other guests rooms and staff did NOTHING to Rectify the problem or ask the noisy guests to leave the property, as any normal hotel would do. Spoke to two managers and both refused to give us a refund of any type and they told expedia they would not refund as well!

Everything about my stay was wonderful. The staff was friendly and kind. The room and hotel was clean and comfortable. The breakfast bagel bar had plenty of options. I cannot say enough about how much I enjoyed my stay at this hotel. If I am ever back in the area I will definitely stay here again.
