Spark by Hilton Merrillville

Nice, clean, and well-maintained budget no-frills hotel in the Hilton line. Pretty new and fresh. No hot breakfast - yogurt bar and bagels instead. Coffee is "proudly" Folgers - not good. Staff is friendly and very helpful.

Overall one of the best hotel experience always greeted at the desk went entering or leaving the building. Dre’Quan took it the extra steps to ensure I had a positive experience while at this location. I am currently a Diamond Member and this stay will be my 46th this year and can truly say the most positive. It is a “basic” Hilton experience and more economically friendly but I prefer the experience here over a Hampton or Home2 easily. Also- comfortable beds/pillows and newer TVs to stream on. Will definitely make sure when in the area this hotel will be where I stay!

I had an exceptionally good experience at the Spark by Hilton in Merrillville IN. The building, furnishings, flooring, bathroom, paint, and surfaces have all been rehabbed/replaced. There was plenty of in room lighting. It was sparkling clean, the bed was very comfortable, and my room was very spacious. The furnishings are not necessarily intended to look rich, but they are new, clean, and unblemished. The staff were graciously intent on providing a positive experience. Breakfast is available, and coffee and tea are always available as well. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

When me and my husband walked into the hotel the staff on duty (Dre’Quan) was not welcoming at all. He actually laughed at us multiple times (ex. my husband came down to get a few items from the hotel convenience store and then asked for a receipt which Dre’Quan laughed at him after my husband asked if they had receipts for purchases). When we entered our room we noticed a strong smoke smell and through the walls you can hear everything. There is no pool at this location so if you wanted to book a hotel with a pool this isn’t the one for you. Even though there was a pool advertised online.

Very good area to stay in. Rooms look a little ghetto but the bed is comfortable, no bed bugs, and AC works great. Breakfast sucked with only expired oat milk, watered down apple juice, and bagels for your 1st meal of the day. Staff were amazing tho and super friendly/helpful. Good area for those looking to hike Indiana Dunes National/State Park.
