Extended Stay America Suites- Merrillville - Us Rte. 30

We stayed here over the holidays while we visited family in the area. The staff was absolutely amazing and we loved the woman who ran the front desk. I completely forgot her name but she was delightful and had blue in her hair. The room was clean. We slept well with no disturbances. My only complaint is the "breakfast" (it was muffins and cereal bars and coffee) and the heater in our room. I tried to turn the temperature down but no matter what the room stayed hot. I didn't say anything because I don't want to bother staff. Otherwise, it was a great place to stay and affordable.

I had an extremely disappointing stay at Extended Stay America and would not recommend this location to anyone.||• Dirty Room (#106) – The room was filthy upon check-in. The shower wall had visible stains, there was damage throughout the unit, and the flooring was sticky like it hadn’t been mopped in weeks. There was also something slathered on the kitchen walls that looked like old grease or food, and the entire room had a sour, musty odor that never went away. It was honestly hard to relax or feel clean in that environment (see pictures).||• Flipped Bed to Hide Blood Stains (Room #108) – We originally thought the bed was just extremely hard, but later realized it had been flipped upside down. When we checked what was supposed to be the top, we found blood stains that had soaked through t

Sherry the General Manager is amazing at what she does. Her staff made sure I was comfortable and taken care of. If you want to stay at an Extended Stay America this is the one to stay at.

Nice rooms for the price. As others stated, the rooms are a bit outdated but they are decently clean. My only gripe is the room had a slight musty odor. I think the carpet is the culprit. The shower is hot and the water pressure is good.
