Home2 Suites by Hilton Merrillville

My family and I stayed at Home2 Suites for 3 nights while visiting the area for a funeral. We were met with incredibly friendly staff right from the start, and each staff member we interacted with was polite, energetic and helpful. While eating breakfast one morning, we noted that it was evident the staff all got along and enjoyed working together, just by their interactions. Breakfast was top notch. Food was delicious, and the kitchen area was spacious and well thought out. No crowding or tight spaces! The rooms were spacious and comfortable. Really liked all of the storage and closet space. Everything I packed had a place for me to unpack and store, kept out of the way. Loved that. Overall, my family will definitely be looking up a Home2 Suites when we travel again. Very impressed!

This hotel is in a nice location right off I-65 with many restaurants and shopping opportunities nearby. The hotel was clean and well maintained. The room was comfortable with nice decor and very roomie. Breakfast was the best that we had on our trip with Home 2 tend to have a better breakfast than other mid-range hotels. All of the staff that we encountered were friendly and helpful. Would definitely stay here again next time we are in Merrillville.

Positive: Staff Negative: Floors in the room make a lot of noise. Like it is not stable. Also the beds are very stiff.

Visited with the family for Christmas. I usually don’t write reviews unless the service was stellar. Staff was great to us the whole time we were here. Couldn’t stop telling the wife how awesome the staff is. Already booked for next year. Want to give a special shoutout to Yvette and Kevin. They were both on top of things. Yvette went out of her way multiple times during our trip to make us feel welcome. Anytime there was a slight mess, it’s almost like Kevin was there to pick it up. I don’t think I’ve ever seen a more clean hotel. The outdoor fire pit was amazing. I’m always very cautious of hotels and sometimes anxious when I stay at them but my experience was the opposite here. The breakfast was awesome too. Biscuits and gravy, yogurt, sandwiches. Didn’t try many of the other option

The good is the room appeared to be very clean. However, I did have an issue that was not remedied in some shape form or fashion. On the 2nd night of my stay, a big black (or dark colored) bug either jumped or fell from the ceiling onto my laptop in the bed. Like many people, I have a phobia of just about all bugs but ESPECIALLY big ones! I couldn't bring myself to examine too closely so I grabbed one of the hand towels and threw it over it...I was happy all the lights were off except for the corner lamp. I hit the towel with a shoe hoping to kill it, then grabbed the whole thing and set it outside the door. I was extremely tired so I just waited to the next morning to inform the front desk.
