Red Roof Inn Merrillville

Red Roof Inn Merrillville came thru for me and my fiancée incredibly. The room was nice and clean, no nonsense, no b.s., and that's after a number of days being there. and the heater! So warm the whole time. The hotel is quiet and it's by everything, Portillos, Mall, Popeyes, Walmart, clothing stores, Costcos, Planet Fitness. And the front staff is SUPER cool. Everyone was chill. I'm coming back here when I'm in the area

My boyfriend and I stayed just for one night and there were people agreeing any where from 12 at night till 3 on the morning couldn't sleep and enjoy would not recommend this hotel even just to sleep for one night. No breakfast or coffee.

Do not go to this place. I guarantee you will regret it. They have all kinds of bugs. Bed bugs, roaches. It’s disgusting. I slept in a chair for one or two hours just to get some relief. After switching rooms 2 times, the manager told me the next day that only two of the rooms had bed bugs, not the third. Therefore I couldn’t be refunded. Literally the worst experience I’ve ever had in a motel/hotel. Add to that the rooms are generally nasty and very unsanitary. I was told the room with red stains on the bed and the broken door was the “good room.”

Bathroom doorknob was not usable. Walls and floors were full of tears and deep scuff marks. The door to the room from the inside could see out a leak from top to bottom in room 111. The microwave did not work. Advertised breakfast is no longer available. Top drawer in the chest was full of tobacco crumbs, two cigars, other trash left behind. This was a NO SMOKING ROOM! Other trash was behind the bedside table. Even a dirty wash cloth. The bedside lamp had a screw missing at the top so the lamp shade would move around if lightly touched. Staff at the desk were not very helpful whenever we mentioned any of the above. Acted like it was our fault. The last morning a nice guy out front did provide me with hot water for tea as we were leaving. Sorry but no more Red Roof Inn!
