Sleep Inn & Suites Birmingham Colonnade

The property looks very nice and is in a great location. However, the two things that make or break a hotel for me are the quality of the mattress and the breakfast. If I can’t sleep, what’s the point? This was literally the most uncomfortable mattress I’ve ever slept on in a Choice Hotel, and I was in severe physical pain both nights. The breakfast was lackluster, at best. On the first day, they had so little food that I had to take my family elsewhere to eat. On the second day, they did have food, but the pancake maker kept messing up. That was the one thing I was counting on my 3 year old being able to eat.

Beds uncomfortable, metal frame noisy, even from surrounding rooms. Furniture should be cleaner, lesser used areas are dusty. Microwave placed where power outlets were not available. "Hot" breakfast needs improving. Staff were very nice and easy to work with. You would do well to have an independent inspector to examine hotel needs for improvement. Over the years of staying in choice hotels, the only branch that seems to be maintaining a high standard is the Comfort Inn and Suites.

I was in Birmingham because my brother was in UAB Hospital in very critical condition. My mother and i were a mess. Sleep inn and Suites came up in Google search by being close (9 miles) from UAB. We booked our first 2 nights online with ease. We ended up extending out trip for 3 more nights. It was probably the only good part of our visit. Everyone and everything at this hotel were Five Stars. The rooms were clean. The staff was helpful and kind. I will be returning to UAB fairly soon and fortunately i already know where i will be staying. Thank you Sleep Inn and Suites for everything.

We have stayed at your location in Hoover/Birmingham area at least 7 times this year due to medical reasons. Every stay has been great. The front desk are friendly and always try to accommodate my requests. Hotel is quiet and clean. It is located near lots of dining and little shops. Thank you for always making our stay wonderful!

Place is fine for a place to sleep. Charged a deposit for a service animal (100 bucks) and the rooms are "clean". Breakfast is one of the better hotel breakfasts out there so they get 3 stars instead of 2. Wouldn't stay more than a single night.
