Sleep Inn Springfield South I60 near Medical District

We were pleasantly surprised by how nice our visit was. The room was nice, it was clean, and very efficient. I have to tell you, we generally avoid the hotels that end in “Inn”. We only will go there if there are no other choices. In this case, on our way to Indianapolis, we were sort of stuck…but it turned out very well. We would certainly recommend the Sleep Inn.

This is not what I expected at all from a hotel. I rented 2 rooms one for my husband and another for my grown kids. I asked for adjoining rooms and did not get them. When we checked in a man was being escorted out by police. The man then harassed my husband and son when they stepped outside asking for a ride. The pool area was disgusting. There was cigar tobacco all over the floor. We had to go through several pool towels to find one without blood stains or holes and the hot tub was simply a warm pool with no working jets/bubbles. Later that evening a worker opened my kids room door. When I asked why, she said she didn’t know if there was anyone in the room. This happened again the next day with a different worker. I'm staying here for a while after I sold my house and I am very very impressed with the staff. I had a slight problem when I first came in and they went above and beyond to fix the issue !!! The first night I met a lady named lady Mary who went out of her way to fix the problem and made me feel so comfortable and I've met another wonderful lady named Michelle at the front desk who is fantastic as well. I have to pay an extra amount because my Labrador is staying with me right now but it's totally fine because I like this hotel so much . I'm alone with my Labrador and I feel so safe which is extremely important to me. The room is extra clean and comfortable and I love their blackout curtains. We went because we had an emergency. We called at 2:00 am and Mary was working the front desk. When we got she received us with such joy, and friendliness. When I talked to her on the phone, I told her where I was and she told me I was only 4 to 5 minutes away. She was so good to us. Our arrival was so sweet and welcoming. I would definitely stay at The Sleep Inn again.

What really did it for us is that the pocket door for the bathroom didn't shut all the way, the shower is tiny and smelled off. The Shower/Bathroom is tiny and claustrophobic, not what was shown in the photos I saw when booking. Tiny room with two very small double beds and beds are worn out. It was clean-ish, the property is well kept and the front desk was amazing. She looked to see if they had a room with a bigger bathroom but with two kids we couldnt stay in a king suite. After I told them we weren't going to stay they offered the king suite and the room we were in but we declined. I hate we couldnt get a refund but it is what it is.
