Candlewood Suites Springfield-Medical District by IHG

Stayed here for one night with a later than usual check-in. Was informed that if you’re a Springfield local, they don’t “typically” rent rooms out. Thought that was a little absurd, but was able to enjoy the stay nonetheless with a sufficient room. A little pricey, but I understand the late booking with little notice and full occupancy.

Stayed here while my wife’s mother was in the hospital. We had just moved out of the area, the staff was extremely rude to us about it. We had already paid in full. We had been moved out of the area for a couple months, her license not reflected our new address and they accused her of trying to take advantage of staying locally. We even showed them my up to date license that showed we did not live in the area and they were extremely rude and said next time they weren’t going to serve us because we were local. Only one access card worked, wife got locked out of the room late night after returning from hospital.

First of all, the front desk staff were fabulous! I highly recommend digital check-in as this saves paperwork and time. The suite was okay. The furniture needs to be replaced as some of it was coming apart. There was also a build-up of dust on the second shelf of the coffee table and the top shelf in the bathroom. The bathtub had a pink stain across the bottom. The bathroom mirror looked like someone had tried to clean it by wiping a towel across it. The bed was comfortable and the sheets were clean. Overall, I don't think the cost of the suite was worth it. As I stated above, the rooms definitely need to be updated and refreshed.

Rooms were nice and everything was very clean, but the staff was outstanding! They really go out of their way to make sure everything is right. I stayed here for 10 weeks and every single employee here was helpful and friendly. This was for work trip, but would stay here again even for personal trips!

I researched every hotel in Springfield before choosing Candlewood. My husband & I were both super impressed. The check in was easy, the staff were all very friendly, & the room itself was so clean and nice! The bed was comfy, the bathroom clean, no bad odors, no icky feeling of walking barefoot on the floor, sitting on the toilet, or worry about the comforter being nasty….it was an excellent room at a great price! Wonderful location as well! My husband travels for work so we’ve seen our fair share of hotels and we would 100% choose candlewood again when visiting Springfield.
