Sleep Inn Orangeburg

Stayed Nov 21–23 and this property was an absolute disappointment. The first room was filthy — fridge nasty, toilet loose, sink covered in rust, bacteria visible on the sinks, shower dirty, and bedding with stains resembling dried blood. We were moved to another room and it was barely better. The comforter was cut up, dirty, and the water never got warm the entire stay. We were told hot water couldn’t be controlled because the hotel was full — completely unacceptable for any hotel, let alone one charging $350+ for two nights. We complained multiple times onsite, and since leaving, management has ignored us entirely. No returned calls, no accountability. Positive: Desk clerk was very friendly Negative: Staff forbidden to enforce no pets allowed rule. An unleashed large dog jumped on me, obviously not a service dog. A small dog in the lobby kept barking at me. Clerk said she would be fired is she questioned dogs’ status. Room VERY noisy and stinky

We stayed at this hotel 1/3/26. Just needed a overnight stay - on our way to FL. This hotel is right off the highway, so super convenient. Check in was smooth. Had a few minor issues: (1) the shampoo bottle in the shower was completely empty, (2) when we arrived at breakfast at 7:07 AM, the scrambled egg pan was already empty. When I inquired, the gentleman said "they only had a little bit left to bring out", which they did 15 minutes later. Also the tables were very dirty, (3) the lobby's lady's bathroom was out of toilet paper at 8 AM, (4) the check out clerk had zero personality. All in all it was not a terrible stay and we would stay there again if we needed an overnight stay.

Spent the night while traveling through. Check in was easy, staff were friendly. Room on second floor wasn’t very clean. I found several surfaces that were dusty and/or dirty. One pillowcase had makeup on it and obviously hadn’t been washed properly. Bathroom sink ran only a trickle of water. Some kind of stick on bath mat in the tub was ripped and brittle. Gross underneath. This hotel appeared clean enough on the surface, but, in truth, fell far short of the mark I would expect at a Sleep Inn.

All matters attended to cordially and accommodated with professionalism and kind attention. Rooms are nicely appointed and in good order. Breakfast is substantial and attended to with a wide selection of amenities. Room rate is competitively affordable. We have stayed at a variety of other hotels, but won't again. Sleep Inn is definitely our hotel of choice. This is not a paid-for endorsement, but is our honest assessment.
