Ski Butternut

Very busy on a Friday midday in February. Sunny and beautiful. Nice facilities with food and beer. Local beer on tap, $10 a pour. Can sit and drink outside enjoying the weather and people coming down the mountain. Place is very busy but still a lot of seating inside and out. Everyone looks happy!

Always a great time at Butternut. Great conditions, the lines move fast as they have upgraded many of the lofts over the years. All the lifts are fixed grip quads that move the lines fast. Trails are groomed well every night. It’s easy to find everything, lots of maps, easily marked. The lodge has plenty of room. Recommend starting early, just after lunch it gets busy.

Ski Butternut is perhaps the best ski mountain I’ve gone too. Yes, it is a small mountain but they have diverse, fun runs. They always do an exceptional job with snowmaking and grooming. You can count on them for solid conditions. I grew up going to this mountain with my family and have spent more time here than I can count. They have always been a good mountain. As an adult now, I never count out Butternut when I want a good ski day. I will always support this place. If you go on weekends and don’t get an early start, expect a lift line. Go early and you will be rewarded with superb conditions and quiet lifts. Friday deal is amazing too! Big shoutout to Casey at the ski shop for ensuring we had an awesome day on the mountain! My dad suffered a snowboard binding break halfway through a run and we thought we'd be either renting gear or done for the day, but Casey was able to find replacement parts and get everything fixed up right away. We were back on the lifts in no time and able to enjoy the rest of a gorgeous day on the slopes, thanks to him! Overall, I love this place - I've been coming here since I was a little kid just learning how to ski, and I'm still having great experiences here decades later! Incredibly affordable weekday prices, great trail variety, wonderfully friendly staff. Can't wait for my next visit!

Went tubing with kiddo and had a blast. Friendly and courteous staff. Great prices at the lodge too. Food truck wasn't open this time but we didn't want anything. Awesome place. Will be back.
