Lantern House Motel

Great spot in Great Barrington which we used as basecamp for some early season skiing/snowboarding. There are 5 ski areas within 45 minutes or so. It's pretty walkable to a few restaurants and the amazing Great Barrington Brewery. The room was super clean and it was massive. Two sort of separate spaces each with a TV.

This motel has been completely renovated and is now operating as an Airbnb. The rooms are stylishly appointed and the King bed was very comfortable. Several amenities made for nice touches, including a wine fridge to keep our drinks cold (though a mini fridge with a freezer would have been even nicer since we had some ice packs we would've liked to use), a coffee machine and a bag of local ground coffee, and access to extra supplies should you need them (no proprietors on-site, all self-serve).||The downsides are smallish but worth mentioning. First, the walls are fairly thin and you can hear neighbors through them, as well as any that are sitting outside on the individual decks out back. DONT STAY!!! I stayed with my boyfriend for two nights on our second night we noticed some strange things started to happen while my boyfriend was in the shower i ran out to the car then when i came back in our back door was open and i know we had locked that door we both felt very uncomfortable with the situation and decided to leave after the situation occurred. On our way back home my car was making some strange sounds so when we felt it was safe to do so we pulled over and popped my hood. We discovered that someone had messed with my car and left the transmission fluid dipstick laying flat in my hood. Now this left me with the question of how did they get into my car so we inspected the whole car to find scuff marks near my driver side door. We found how they broke in now. I booked th

Great place to stay if your not in need of a kitchen. Very clean and updated. Staff easy to work with and hard to beat the price. Close to really great dining in Great Barrington. Close to the area attractions.
