Simmons Motel

We booked this place last minute on Thanksgiving while driving through - decided we wanted to experience Hershey and continue on in the morning. It was about $50 which was a great price for Thanksgiving night. The woman at the desk was super friendly, gave us some quick history about the place and got us checked in fast before we ran off to see what we could do in the area. It's a motel vibe which we actually said the next day we preferred over a big name hotel. Our room had 2 queen beds - spacious for the two of us. TV, microwave, mini fridge etc. The bathroom was updated too. I saw a review that said there were no shelves in the showers but ours had 3 shelves so just FYI. We were on the first floor and the people above us sounded like they were rearranging furniture until 5 am but we eve

Positive: Location Negative: Room was extremely hot and had to run the AC constantly, overhead light needed new bulb, reported that the shower would not drain. No blow dryer in room

Location is great. Walkable to restaurants and we could watch rollercoasters right behind the hotel. Staff was friendly. We booked an apartment with 2 queens and a full. However the ‘full’ was only a loveseat that folded out in the living room. We had to move furniture around so we could fold it out. It was not comfortable. Windows were thin and so the traffic was loud all night. Some fixtures were broken. We had to request toilet to be repaired which they did.

The staff was very nice! The bed was very comfortable. The location was great! I have a few suggestions to make it more visitor friendly: the shower had no little shelves to hold my shampoo & body wash so I had to put them on the floor of the shower. A very small corner table in the bathroom to hold a toiletries bag (I had to set it on the back of the toilet which had other items sitting there). On a plus side. The room had a microwave & mini fridge! Overall, I would stay here again.

The check in process was easy, the front desk staff was very helpful. Room smells clean, and appears clean as well. Bed is quite comfortable, tv works, and so does the wifi. For the money, I'm not sure how folks can complain. My only suggestions would be, put a small shelf in the bathroom near the sink to hold your bathroom stuff, and make the dead bolt lockable.
