Courtyard by Marriott Hershey Chocolate Avenue

The bathroom was very dirty. I don't think the room was even cleaned between guests, except in the most cursory way. There was hair everywhere, all over the shower floor. I skipped taking a shower because I wasn't willing to get in there barefoot. There was also dirt and hair visibly built up in the corners of the bathroom. The rest of the room looked ok, but the coffee pods and things that go with the coffee maker were missing. ||Reason number 2 for the low review is that when I went downstairs in the morning to get coffee - after discovering it hadn't been refilled in the room - I found there was only a coffee making machine that you had to use a credit card to access. I’m writing this review on behalf of my sister, who stayed at the Courtyard by Marriott Hershey Chocolate Avenue the weekend of August 23rd with my niece, who has a disability, and a family friend. She asked me to share how grateful she is for the exceptional service she received during her stay. She especially wanted to recognize Elle at the front desk, Dawn from the Bistro, and Joyce, who each went above and beyond to make her feel welcomed, supported, and genuinely cared for. Their kindness and compassion truly made her stay memorable. Traveling with a disabled child can be challenging, but the team at this hotel made everything smooth, comfortable, and stress-free. Update November 2025. Classic Courtyard Marriott. Does have small bistro. Rooms are spacious. Location close to Hershey restaurants and attractions. Exceptional guest service from Amanda and Duana. They made our stay so enjoyable last month when we traveled down to Florida that we felt we had to book again at this Courtyard Marriott on our return trip. I've spent my career in sales, marketing and advertising and these two employees best represent the Marriott brand of customer centered service. In travelling from NH to FL, we have stayed in small boutique hotels, inns, b&b's, vrbo's, yet these two made us feel most welcomed and so well cared for during our stay. My husband and I hope management recognizes these two outstanding employees. We will be back again because of Amanda and Duana. O

Positive: Location Negative: Bathroom exhaust fan did not work. Bed closest to the bathroom had dirty linens. Clearly the sheets were changed and washed but the duvet and insert were reused. The bathroom floors had dust and hair indicating they were not cleaned.

We stayed at the Courtyard for the holiday weekend. While the room was nice with no complaints, we did experience a couple other items that were disappointing. The coffee machine wasn’t working when we arrived. When it was working later in the trip, it only filled about a third of the cup, so the front desk agent had to fill it up the rest of the way behind the bistro. The reason I went to the machine, was because the bistro only had two people working. They were so sweet and kind and doing everything they could, but it was taking forever. Definitely need an additional staff member or two working during peak hours.
