ShoreWay Acres Inn & Cape Cod Lodging

We didn’t see Shoreway Acres at it’s best due to arriving in horrible weather. If you are looking for ultra-modern, then this isn’t for you: the rooms are a little dated, the TV is not digital and the Wi-Fi wasn’t great in our room. However, the location (just a few yards away from a great choice in restaurants and walking distance to the sea and harbour) is great and the service (special note to Paula at breakfast) is delightfully old-school.

Great location. Just off the main street with plenty of places to eat. Loved being able to walk straight from the hotel to the main area with some lovely shops etc. We had a room in the indoor pool building. The pool was being used all one day for lessons. Wasnt a problem for us as we didnt intend using it but just to be aware if thats in your plans. Rooms were a bit dated and could do with a little TLC and updating but it was large spacious and clean. And, (unlike other hotels we visitied) had kettles (on request) in the room, so was able to make a loveky cup of tea (sorry, but us brits do like a nice cup of tea). We were able to control the heat/aircon ourselves. The only real downside was the bed. Whilst the mattress was big and comfy, it was on a metal spring base a d was like sleeping

Visited Shoreway Acres ten years ago and realized it hadn't been updated since its inception, but we thought we'd give it another try. We returned in September this year and found the room to have a musty smell, so we opened the windows during the night. We didn't see the mold in the windowsills until morning. The mold was worse in the bathtub. Also, the heating unit was rusty and needed paint or replacement. The mold is a health issue. When we checked out I asked the person in the office to have someone contact me. I never heard from anyone at Shoreway so I thought I would tell others. I’m giving this property two stars only because the room at least had a bathroom and walkable to town. Beyond that, it’s in serious need of updates. The Wi‑Fi barely works, there are no USB ports or other convenient charging options, and there are no privacy curtains—so you’re either sitting in the dark or fully visible to anyone walking by.||The parking lot is full of potholes. To make matters worse, the lot was icy with no effort made to clear it or add anything for safety, except at the one step leading into the building.||Quality of towels and sheets is poor. ||Overall, a very disappointing stay.

A great location and a good breakfast in the morning. The room I was in could do with a little modernisation but it was adequate. The pool was clean but if you want to use the sauna, you have to turn it on half an hour before you want to use it.
