This is a beautiful campground close to town. The lake is beautiful but hard to get to. Almost everything is down a steep slope. It was hard to fish and shallow as they have lowered the lake for the winter. There are many deer in this park. The campsite themselves are laid out in a strange manner. Your camper is up high and you have to walk down steps to get to your picnic table, your grill and your fire ring.

Beautiful water view. Step out our camper door to steps down to water. Water hook up on site 6 is a joke; old manual hand pump. No sewer which we expected. Asphalt breaking up on many sites making leveling difficult. Park needs some renovating on its sites. Bathhouse and bathroom are clean (today) . Check in staff at gate very friendly.

Campsites are poorly maintained! Many sites had broken grills, very steep terrain with no stairs or railings and broken asphalt pads. Very small and hard to maneuver campsites with trees nearly touching your campers. We had to relocate from our original site booked due to dangerous terrain conditions. We have a smaller 20’ camper with no slide and were shocked to barely fit on the sites. We had to clean out the fire-pit from previous use to even use it for our stay. Bath houses were in similar condition with very dim lighting and partially broken amenities. As a female I was not comfortable using them at all.

Great place to stay on the water. Had a little trouble with 2 campsites away. They were partying well past quite hour (10:00 pm). My wife had to call security at 12:30 am. Besides that, it was a good place to stay. We are already play to stay next November. Love that we could go to the other side of the lake to a great restaurant that had live music

Should be a great place to stay but this campground is really in need of TLC. It doesnt appear maintenence has been a priority for years. Paved sites have crumbling asphalt that makes footing dangerous. Steps down from pads to picnic tables are rotting wood creating serious hazards. Bath houses are locked & require a code (provided at checkin) to use them; bathhouse facilities are old and need updating. Water faucets at sites are likewise old, some barely usable. And unfortunately the Joro spiders are EVERYWHERE and a huge issue in campsites and hiking trails. Positives are: the beautiful views of Lake Lanier from most sites; Entrance has small 'store' that sells firewood and an ice machine; Life jacket loaners are available near the entrance also, by the swimming beach.
