Rodeway Inn Jersey City North

DO NOT STAY HERE I needed a hotel room due to the storm and checked into room 126, I had to pay for early check in fee of $25. The room was dirty and had ice on the floor by the door. The TV did not work . The manager came to fix it. the tub did not drain after I took a shower. I called front desk who sent an engineer and a rude housekeeping manager ( i assume) - this rude woman did not even acknowledge me when she walked in, went straight to the bathroom with the engineer, who is also clueless. Dirty ice all over the carpet from their shoes as they walked in, couldnt figure out why the tub is not draining. and she said ' could you move to room 121?' and gave me the key .I had to pack quickly , this rude woman did not even apologize or acknowledge the inconvenience . I moved to room 121

★☆☆☆☆ Zero stars — This place should be shut down I don’t write reviews often, but my experience at The Roadway Inn in Jersey City was so unbelievably bad, I feel obligated to warn others. First off, the room was disgusting. There was mold growing on the bathtub, shower curtain, and even parts of the wall — not a little, but full-on visible mold. The place reeked of mildew and stale air, which isn’t surprising considering the air conditioner and bathroom exhaust fans were completely clogged with dust and dirt. I had to remove the a/c filter and wash it and it didnt help, It was impossible to breathe comfortably, and I honestly felt like I was being exposed to toxic air the entire time. Positive: This place is economical & clean for the price. The best hamburgers in the WORLD are right across the street at White Manna.. Negative: It wasn't free

This hotel should be condemned! I have photos to prove that statement. Filthy, smelled of strong cigarette smoke in non smoking room, holes burned in blanket from cigarettes, tv had fallen off wall and was placed on table, tv had no picture, no one answered phone at desk, noise level throughout the night was unbelievable. To top it all was the fire alarm at 6am. Followed by the fire department arriving on the scene. I was told that someone who lives in the hotel was smoking in their room and that set off the alarm. Corporate needs to schedule a visit to this place. It was the only hotel available after our flight was canceled.

A pretty basic motel with good parking and not too far from the PATH station at JSQ. When I stayed here, the rooms in Manhattan averaged ~ $1,000 so this looked like a steal at $162. The room was clean-ish and the bed quite comfortable, actually.
