Riverside Island Campsites

The island has two secluded campsites. We went with another couple so we occupied both sites. Each site has a large tent, sauna/toilet house, cook tent with all necessary cooking amenities, fire pit, Weber grill, and great views of the lake. The sites are about 100 yards from each other and you cannot see or hear one from the other. Ryan and Megan were ideal hosts. They made sure we had everything we needed at the outset and then left us to be on our own until they picked us up to leave. The tent and bed were very comfortable. It rained parts of one night and day and the tent stayed dry the entire time. The sauna works great. The serenity and privacy of the island and camp sites made this a great weekend getaway. We just returned from a stay at Riverside Island Campsites and can't say enough about our wonderful experience there. We rented both campsites on the island to accommodate our two families traveling together. You won't find nicer people than Megan and Ryan the proprietors of this island. As soon as we arrived they helped us load our gear onto the boats, to the island, and onto the campsites. They showed us where everything was and how everything worked and were always accessible by phone (yes, cell reception was good there). The campsites are beautiful, clean, and well-maintained. They are truly FULLY outfitted. The mess tent has everything you could possibly need from cooking supplies (all very clean) to paper towels, trash bags, gladware, foil, charcoal, etc. The bathroom was very clean

My wife loves to stay in rustic cabins but we were entranced by an opportunity to tent camp in style. This is exactly what Ryan and his friendly and well traveled young family provided us. He met us lakeside with his power boat and took us and belongings over to the island. As soon as we viewed the tent complex constructed high on the island amidst lush foliage and tall trees, including oak, we were smitten. The main tent is set on a wood platform and is capable of housing many more than just the two of us. The bed was warm and comfy, a far cry from sleeping on pads or blown up mattresses. Ah, the sauna and bathroom are beautiful with natural wood finishes. The sauna is wood fired and once it gets cooking it is very relaxing. The island was a perfect place to celebrate our 25th wedding anniversary, serene & relaxing. We canoed, swam, kayaked, hiked & explored, enjoyed the sounds of nature, cooked good meals, read a lot, used the sauna... Our hosts had thought of every possible thing one might want & need while camping. Our camp site was outfitted perfectly. Hated to leave. Would go back in a heartbeat!

My wife and I just stayed here for an anniversary getaway. It was just a fantastic experience. They have thought of everything to make your stay both comfortable and enjoyable. They also helped us get settled at the campsite and also made themselves available if we needed anything. We will definitely be back and tell our friends about this place!||Chris and Deb
