Kawishiwi Lodge & Outfitters

We spent a week at Cabin 19 at the Kawishiwi Lodge and it was amazing. First time in the BWCA. Daily paddles out into the BWCA from the cabin was so convenient. The location is spectacular with a beautiful lake view and dock access. Very close to Lake One. Huge cabin with 8 queen beds and a beautiful deck. milky way star viewing, fireflies, loons, amazing sunsets, wildflowers and an unbelievable quiet. No cell service or air conditioning at the cabin but that part of the charm! Nationally registered lodge and friendly hosts. Telephone and WIFI at the lodge. Town of Ely is another gem full of explorations about 17 miles away.

We had a great trip in BWCA and a big part of that was Frank and Kawishiwi Outfitters. Excellent equipment, friendly service, and great location right on the water. Frank suggested a great route and we thoroughly enjoyed our adventure! Can’t recommend these guys enough!

We had a fun time in cabin 9. We caught our fill of walleye, bass and northerns. Frank and Jake were super hosts.

Just finished a 4 day trip into the Boundary Waters. We were outfitted by Kawishiwi Lodge and Outfitters and it was worth every penny. The first night we stayed at one of the bunk houses then left the next morning. Accommodations were comfortable and clean with great views from the beach. There was wifi available at the lodge if you need to research any last minute trip details or weather updates. Frank the owner met us early in the morning to get us our packs, canoes, and was super helpful providing feedback on routes or last minute questions. All equipment was high quality, functioned well, and met our needs. The meals provided were good camp meals and didn't require us to pack ice which kept our weight down. Staying in the cabins at Kawishiwi Lodge and Resort is a wonderful way to experience the Boundary Waters, especially with beginners and/or family. Frank, his family, and their help were friendly, helpful, and accommodating. You have all the amenities of the lodge/resort as well as the opportunity to day trip into the Waters for fun and adventure.||||We rented two cabins for our family vacation (parents, siblings, and their families - 8 people) in July of 2021. Our family used cabins 8 and 11. 8 was just the right size for a my parents, my husband, and myself. It is right up from the water with a private dock in the back part of the cove. 11 was used by my brother and his family and being larger, accommodated our family meals and inside entertainment.
