Lodge of Whispering Pines

5 star:We stayed at Wispering pines in May 2025 . The road to lodge is beautiful. As we entered the lodge, we were greeted , so welcoming. Boats were always cleaned and ready to go . Staff and owner and were amazing and pleasant, Top notch. Fishing ,site seeing and cabin are as you see in photos. Home away from home! Outside of living room we had view of lake each morning having coffee. We were lined up for day of fishing with guides also and caught our walleye for shore lunch. We loved our drives in morning and evenings to see wildlife . Incrediable to see the bears quite often down the road. They would run off soon as they spot you so have the camera ready. Had a wonderful peaceful 11 days hunting and fishing. They have made lots of improvements. many cabins have been updated and more eco-friendly with solar power. I've been coming here for 50 years and it has matured into a wonderful modern wilderness resort. The fishing can be very good and you couldn't find any more beautiful place to Grouse hunt.

This is the second year my husband and I have gone to Lodge of the Whispering Pines. We have stayed at Cabin 1 (last year) and Cabin 2 (this year) It's a wonderful place to stay when you want to get away from all the hustle and bustle of everyday life and unplug and recharge your "batteries." The cabins are clean, the furniture is comfortable, nice big fridge and freezer for all the fish you catch. The staff are amazing! Now, it is somewhat "off the grid", so if you're looking for dishwasher, and other fancy amenities this may not be the place for you. But if you want to hear the birds singing, see eagles, red foxes, deer and other wildlife, see amazing sunsets and if lucky enough even the northern lights, and at night the stars come out to dazzle as bright as diamonds. We had a family reunion at the resort, my 4 sisters in a cabin and my wife and I in our 24' class C RV. The RV site was basic with water and electricity and we did need leveling blocks. We were provided an extension hose for water hookup at no exta expense. My sisters' 3 bedroom cabin was clean and comfortable. Heat for the cabin was in the form of a propane fireplace located in the kitchen/dining/family room. |The 5 stars is based on the resorts serene setting and the welcoming nature of the staff. We appreciated the free use of canoes and kayaks. The owners have installed an extensive array of solar panels with batteries which provided most of the energy for the resort. There is also excellent internet service.
