Rib Mountain Inn & Townhouses

We have stayed here multiple times over the last 10 years. We have always loved the location and amenities. However things have gown downhill considerably! No sauna, no hot tub, no services! We ran out of TP. Tried to contact host NO RESPONSE! Lobby not available. We will not be staying here again if the new management style remains. There are so many better places to stay now in Wausau!! If you are coming to Granite Peak stay somewhere with customer service, a hot tub and amenities that are available!!

This is a terrific place to stay, and we were so glad we tried it. Very quiet during off season for skiing, but within 5 minutes of all the restaurants, shopping, parks for hiking, and basically anything you would like to do. Barbara, the general manager, was great to work with on anything we needed and made us feel right at home. The rooms are very comfortable and having a woodburning fireplace was very nice for relaxing in the room (there is firewood available for purchase). The housekeeping staff, Dez and Elizabeth, were great and kept everything in great shape. So if you are looking for a place to stay in the Wausau/Rib Mountain area the Rib Mountain Inn will not disappoint.

OMG just NO!!! sure some of you used to come here, that ownerships is gone. I arrived on a prime ski weekend to a empty parking lot, one abandon car, one useable car. No one there. all the rooms were empty save the one with it's door open and that view wasn't pretty. Sure they are not closed yet, that train is coming. Marriot is nice a couple miles away. Just don't plan on staying here like I did, they don't even answer the two numbers listed I've found.

Very romantic place — clean, cozy, and welcoming. The outside area is nicely secluded, making it perfect for picnics. The hotel manager, Barbara, is exceptionally friendly and professional, ready to answer questions and assist. Breakfast is tasty, and the location is convenient. Altogether, it’s everything you need when traveling far from home.

What happened? Did all availability get pushed to AirBnB? I’ve called the front desk ~50+ times to review a reference number for a reservation for early February; nobody picks up. Their 3rd-party booking system doesn’t have any visibility on availability as well; they defer to a dead front desk line. I’ve checked AirBnB, but details as it relates to hot tub and sauna amenities are lacking. We’ve stayed here a multiple times over the past few years and never had an issue with booking. This is disappointing. Without a ski-in/ski-out option, we’ll defer to Lutsen.
