Jefferson Street Inn

Great hotel, perfect downtown location, beautiful room, friendly staff. I am unable to identify and negatives. Will stay again.

Positive: Really liked the location and the decor. Negative: The continental breakfast was supposed to be at 7AM on Sunday. Due to problems with the kitchen, it did not open until 7:40 and was not fully stocked. This was disappointing as the area looked great.

We often stay at the Jefferson to see shows at the Grand Theater, which is within walking distance. Also, my husband has had many eye procedures and surgeries, and the Eye Clinic is just down the road. The hotel is clean, and the staff is helpful. Hotel parking is a problem. If you want to park in the lot, you have to be here around check-in time. The lot fills fast. After that, you have to walk to the parking garage or another lot. They offer breakfast for $12 a plate, and it really wasn't all that good. It would be good if it was free. We prefer the Mint Cafe for breakfast. We usually stay in a normal room, but there was none available, so we forked over the money to stay in this suite.

We stayed there for a gymnastics meet at the YMCA down the street from this hotel, so for location - it was fantastic! We were given a room rate of 140/night as part of the gymnastics event going on. I specifically asked the lady helping me to make the reservation on the phone if the rate was 140/night. I was told yes. I was sent a bill in an email for the 2 nights we decided to stay there. The bill was correct for the price. When we were leaving we were sent an updated bill by email and it was for $5 more a night. I went downstairs and the lady apparently at the front desk couldn't help me fix the rate. So I needed to wait until the manager was available. This hotel is in a great location in downtown Wasuau which was the primary reason for us selecting it. Check in service was excellent. I would say the rooms were a bit dated for the price of the room. Not terrible by any means but also not elevated.
