Residence Inn by Marriott Portsmouth

Stayed at the Residence Inn Portsmouth for a quick, one night stay using my Marriott Bonvoy Points. I did get an alert on my phone very early the day of my check-in (8AM) that my rooms was ready. Although my room was ready, I couldn't check in until later that evening. When I arrived, I was given my keys and provided some basic details about the hotel, breakfast hours, etc. The lobby does have complentary coffee, tea and hot choclate 24 hours a day.||We arrived to our room and it was very clean. There was plenty of ice in the ice maker (which I always choose to dispose of and make new ice). Beds were comfortable. Shower was hot.||We did eat dinner prior to our check-in. Arso is unwilling to deal with his customers. If you bring up a problem to him, he's going to gaslight you and mirror you with questions so he doesn't have to take any responsibility for the behavior of what's going on in the hotel. Speaking of the hotel, if you maintenance to come to your room, they're not going to service your room, I have a ceiling paint that's falling on me every time I shower, the handle in the bathroom is completely broken, there is a crack in the window, the microwave filter light has been on for a month now, I don't have a refrigerator light inside of the fridge. If you would like to stay at this hotel, just know that you would be better off going to the hotel in Dover and staying at the Hilton. The hotel staff here are totally disrespectful and very rude. Stayed here for a little getaway. Room was clean however I did find a dirty plate and spatula under the pull out sofa. Went to shower and no soap. Husband called the front desk and they said someone will bring some right away 20 mins later ( im still in the shower) Husband called again because no one ever brought any. Finally after the 2nd call we got soap. The place is very quiet and staff was friendly.

Lovely facility with clean and comfortable rooms. I had an issue with the thermostat but was moved to another room. Service is very good
