Residence Inn by Marriott McAllen

Very friendly staff. ALL of the bedding is exceptionally clean, and every part of the bathroom is spotless. Breakfast is meh; while they LOOK enticing, one bite of it tells you it’s the prepackaged frozen breakfasts, but the cheap kind. But that’s a minor issue. I saw them serve free to-go dinners, which I thought was very generous. I would come here again.

I have to say this was a thoroughly disappointing experience. As a Marriott Titanium Elite member, I expected a certain standard of service, and unfortunately, this location did not uphold it at all. We arrived a couple of hours after booking, only to be told by the front desk agent, Stephanie, that our reserved room had been given away to another guest by the manager. We ended up with a room that didn’t match what we reserved and had to settle for a sofa sleeper. When we requested extra pillows to accommodate everyone, we were told we could only have two extras despite having multiple guests. To make matters worse, the TV in the living area didn’t work. We had 2 rooms for 3 nights, and were very happy with our stay. While parts of the hotel are dated, it was clean, and the staff was very helpful and friendly. The complimentary breakfast was wonderful and a variety of choices each day. Great location next to HEB.

Positive: I liked so many things. I like that every day there is different breakfast food along with some staple items. The breakfast hours are good. I liked the price of the room, that there's a pool and grill. Negative: If I could change anything, it would be to have both washers working instead of just one and maybe a little more water pressure in the shower. Honestly, that's just being picky because everything was a good experience.

The staff was friendly and helpful but the hotel is not the cleanest. Upon my first night there I discovered there was a roach infestation. The towels and bed sheets also have a slight dirty scent. Could not continue my stay.
