Best Western McAllen Medical Center

GREAT location - a short walk across the parking lot to the hospital (about 50 yards) - closest of any nearby hotel. Huge parking lot that can easily handle any size RV, truck, van or handicap vehicle. Very understanding/kind Front Desk that will allow you to remain parked in their lot after check-out if you're waiting for your loved-one to be released from the hospital. Rooms are very clean and quiet. Restaurants close by and within walking distance. Perfect location if using the hospital. Easy to find with nearby on/off ramps.

Positive: Location Negative: The hotel is very neglected, with a broken bathtub that has been painted to improve its appearance.The carpets are very dirty.The staff are always very friendly, but the hotel in general is in poor condition.

We checked in after a day of driving 9 hours. I went to wash my face and there was no hot water. It literally ran almost a half hour and was still not even warm. Go to call the desk. Phone had no dial tone. My spouse went to the desk. They said we could switch to a different room. Get in there and instant hot water. Go back to first room and collect our stuff. Set stuff inside the door of second room. My spouse went to take the cards back for the original room and I went to put our suitcase in the bedroom…… it was a suite. Anyhow I immediately noticed a dark spot on the carpet at the end of the bed…… first thought was a stain or burn mark. Turn on the lights and there was the biggest cockroach I’ve seen in my life!!
