Residence Inn by Marriott Lancaster

Our extended stay at the Residence Inn by Marriott in Lancaster, PA, from December 14 to February 9 was truly exceptional. From the moment we arrived, the staff made us feel welcome. Assistant Manager Mary Ellen Kasian went above and beyond—personally helping us unload the car in snow and freezing temperatures, and accommodating our request for a sunny, first-floor room. The suite itself was perfect for a long stay: a well-equipped kitchen with a full-size refrigerator, dishwasher, microwave, and ample cabinet and counter space. The room offered thoughtful touches—a large 55-inch HD TV, two incredibly comfortable Serta Perfect Sleeper queen beds, a sleeper sofa, generous drawer space, and a curved computer desk with a swivel chair that made remote work easy. Nice hotel in a good location - near restaurants and shopping. There is actually an indoor mall that is quite nice about 2 min drive. Rooms were a nice size. Bug TV, nice shower. Breakfast was also good (hot breakfast). The fold out sofa was cheap and uncomfortable so had to give 4 stars. Lobby is kind of lousy and small too.

My wife and I were long term guests at the Residence Inn in Lancaster, staying there almost 4 months. The hotel is very well managed and the staff is outstanding. The front desk staff was attentive to details and hands on in making sure requests were addressed. The breakfasts were always good and we generally ate there every weekend. Our housekeeping group was very good at their service and if we had any reasonable request for cleaning, they jumped right on it. The maintenance staff fixes any issue that comes up, usually same day. Having been there for a very long stay, I cannot recommend this hotel enough. If you come to Lancaster, this is the place to stay. The manager is Jeremy Geib and he runs a tight ship.

I was very disappointed with my stay. Upon arrival noted the general appearance of the hotel was dirty. I was in the studio room. My daughter unfolded the sofa bed only to find it dirty with a used inhaler and mattress cover that looked like it still had the last guest funk. Around the coffee machine it had left over open coffee packets from previous guests. The light in the bathroom ceiling had a lot of dust I made a complaint to the management immediately regarding my findings. Mark stated " Housekeeping leaves at 4. I can give you points." The breakfast was below standards. Bread was old. While we only stayed for one night, we really feel like we got to experience all this hotel had to offer. Upon checking, the staff was friendly and helpful. Our room had a kitchen that was well stocked with basic items needed (bowls, silverware, glasses, mugs, knives) and the full size fridge was a huge plus since we were celebrating a birthday and needed fridge space. The pool area was clean, pool was warm and a good size. The gym was perfect, had a little bit of everything. Breakfast offered a lot of options and everything was hot and fresh. We enjoyed the walking path down to Wegmans and other shops.
