Residence Inn by Marriott Gainesville I-75

If you're in Gainesville and you need a place to stay, I highly recommend this hotel. This is a long overdue review, but I felt it had to be done. I owe a HUGE THANK YOU to Maria and her team at the Gainesville Residence Inn. Not only was the hotel updated and clean, with very friendly/competent staff, but when I accidentally left my laptop there, every single person involved, from housekeeping to the front desk to the management bent over backwards to get it back to me. There were no problems or security issues and Maria was amazing to work with. She answered my many questions, came up with a process to return it, securely wrapped it up, and got it back to me as quickly as possible. PHENOMENAL customer service across the board.

Excellent hotel. Very clean and spacious and comfortable rooms- like little apartments|It’s perfect for families. The staff was really friendly and helpful. Katrina (not sure about spelling) the evening front desk agent went above and beyond- even helped my son take a stain out of his shirt. Honestly one of our best stays in Gainesville.

We typically like Residence Inns, but this one was not up to expectations. We knew it would be near the highway, but that typically means you have some noise insulation, this has nothing, instead very old and outdated windows facing the road directly, no way to sleep much. Also, no appreciation for long term status clients, instead of an upgrade we got the last available room (despite advance online check in), which looked like it hadn't been properly prepared, crumbly sheets, just enough towels, dusty. Reception staff didn't seem to be trained, got on offer for earplugs when asking for a quieter room location, not funny!

A little dated. About 30 minute walk to restaurants and grocery stores. Some rooms over look the freeway. Kitchen with microwave, stove, refrigerator, dishwasher, plates, pots and pans. TV had white spots in screen... needs a new TV. Clean room. Happy to consider coming back again.
