Residence Inn by Marriott Chantilly Dulles South

Our extended stay at this hotel was wonderful! A few days before our trip, we stopped by to see the facilities, and Alex greeted us with such respect and kindness that we immediately felt confident about our choice. From check-in to check-out, we always felt welcomed and valued. Every staff member we met was friendly and hardworking. The breakfast team, specially Maria, deserves special mention — they were amazing! Always smiling and attentive, even when things got busy in the mornings. Sylvia, who usually cleaned our room, went above and beyond every single day. She truly made our stay extra comfortable. I've stayed at a number of Residence Inns and typically enjoy my experience, but sadly this location was the worst experience I've had at at Marriott. The room was pretty run down and had terrible noise and light pollution as it was located near the elevators and adjacent to the patio. Smokers on the patio regularly made it impossible to open windows and made the room smell like smoke regardless of the windows being open or closed. Check-in took over 30 minutes with only one person working and only one family checking in ahead of me; when I got to the desk, the individual working barely mumbled an apology. The internet cuts out and at least once a week was prohibitively slow. It was completely down at one point. Breakfast is on par with what you'd expect to find at long-stay hotels. Housek

At the last minute, I learned my son was invited to a convention and competition at the Dulles Expo Center. I contacted Residence Inn 6 days prior to the event and they couldn't have been more gracious about finding us a room and honoring the convention rate which was extraordinarily generous. When we arrived, the front desk staff was friendly and seemed truly happy to help us. They were very knowledgeable about the area and supplied excellent directions and recommendations. The room was perfect. Amazingly clean and spacious. There was not one staff member in this hotel that did not smile or extend a pleasant greeting, regardless of the time of day. Standard corporate Marriott, with it's usual 'rough around the edges' charm. This location is perhaps a small touch above the typical run-down Marriott, though the usual stains/hairs/rips can still be found throughout. Internet speed (100 Mbps, with ethernet) plus free breakfast bumps this up to a four star review.

I'll guarantee you that I've stayed at this hotel more than 130 days last year alone and I can say that the staff is super friendly it is super clean in the breakfast is really good
