Residence Inn by Marriott Boston Waltham

Photos attached on how dirty this hotel is. When I checked in and I had an extremely disappointing experience. My room was very dirty upon arrival, so I went to the front desk to request that it be cleaned. The front desk staff member, Peter, was rude and dismissive from the start. He told me there was no staff available to clean the room and that if I wasn’t satisfied, I could cancel my reservation. I even asked if there was any disinfectant so I could clean the room myself, and he refused to provide anything. The lack of basic customer service, courtesy, and cleanliness was shocking. This is not the experience you expect when staying at a hotel. I hope management takes this seriously, as no guest should be treated this way.

The room itself was fine with minor maintenance issues like the bathroom sink faucet handle would get stuck and was hard to turn on and off, but it was pretty clean. However, the traffic noise is absolutely terrible. I only stayed two nights and the first night I got in very late due to flight delays and had to basically stay up all night to finish some work, so I didn’t go to sleep. Night two I was finally able to get a decent night’s sleep and it was impossible. My room directly overlooked the highway and the traffic sounds like multiple freight trains each time a car passes by. It’s all night long but really picks up around 4am. I couldn’t even get back to sleep after that. There is zero sound proofing and it actually amplifies the noise. I’ve traveled a lot including major cities and

If you book, make sure you stay for a Friday, Saturday or Sunday. The rest of the week is fine, but on those days, you have the opportunity to have Louie as your bartender. Simply put, I was not here for vacation, I was brought here for business. And not fun business, either. Louie made sure that everyone was looked after, getting drinks promptly (even the non-alcoholic ones!) and always having a nice word for the boys. I will be coming back to the Residence Inn because Louie and his team made my 2 week stay 100x better than I could have imagined. Very impressed with the quality of service provided.

The hotel rooms are very nice. I specifically want to leave this review for Louie who works at the bar in hospitality. He has made our experience very comfortable. Maria has also been extremely helpful and courteous. I’d be happy coming back.

Needed to make a trip to get our son into college. Chose this hotel because it was close to the college. It fell short, I'm sorry to say. I had to change rooms twice. Ince because it was overlooking the freeway and I could hear every car drive by. Another time because the lock was broken in my room. Marriott once again cutting corners. Mattress was soft and lumpy and furniture was old and frayed. (see photo). The help here really try to do their best but are very young and untrained. They tried and I appreciate them. There was one bar of soap, no lotion and just the minimal of everything.
