Residence Inn by Marriott Austin Southwest

The hotel itself is very nice. The room was big and accommodating for our needs. The staff was polite and the breakfast they provide was ok. What makes me not want to come back is easily the maid service. We knew they didn’t come everyday and that’s fine. But on the days they did come it was disappointing. The bed was made but the sheets weren’t changed which, IMO, is gross. The shower wasn’t cleaned or even wiped down. And we were given no more toilet paper and had to take it from the public restroom. The next time they came they didn’t even touch the bed but gave us towels. They cleaned the kitchen garbage but didn’t bring us more paper towels. And although the bed was super comfortable we had to sleep at the foot end because the mattress was sunken in at the headboard.

I agree with the 4/13/25 TripAdvisor reviewer. You would think management would have made improvements based on his observations 6 months ago. I will repeat some negatives he mentioned, plus add more of my own personal experiences. ||Starting with the negatives:||For Friday and Saturday nights, one of the two elevators was broken. This meant everyone staying on the upper floors (It’s 4 floors high.) shared ONE elevator. At times, it was slow getting from the 4th floor to the 1st floor, because people on the other floors (including cleaning staff) were using the same elevator. ||Yesterday, I watched a male (dressed in black with a black backpack on) remove an electric scooter from the back rack of a nice van located just steps from the front doors of the hotel—-in broad daylight—-and take

The staff were friendly, service as expected for residence Inn. The pool area is nice and relaxing. Enjoyed the outdoor grill area and seating. The complimentary breakfast was a little better than other Residence Inn’s I’ve stayed at. Rooms were very clean and larger than expected which was nice.

My husband and I were very pleased with our stay at the new Residence Inn-Southwest Austin. The hotel was immaculate and the staff was very professional and helpful. The room provided plenty of space and was very comfortable, specifically the bed. It was very well laid out, the black-out curtains worked very well, there was no noise, I loved the shower, and there was a very handy multi-purpose space across from the closet that could accommodate extra luggage or act as a vanity area with good lighting and a mirror for applying make-up. It also had an electrical outlet to accommodate a blow-dryer. We were very comfortable at this hotel and will definitely stay again when were are in the area. 5 out of 5 stars!

We stayed at this location a few years ago and the experience was just as great. I would highly recommend this property, especially if you are looking for a friendly caring face and an outdoor firepit by the whirlpool & grills.
