Residence Inn by Marriott Austin South

The reason I’m giving this place 3 stars which is insane for me because I always stay at Residence Inns across the country and have never given a 3 star, Reason 1 - Significant garbage around property, lack of upkeep exterior, including homeless laying around the Property, leafs and poor landscaping upkeep, basketball court dirty, no dog stations or dog bags provided like most Marriott properties, no designated dog area, no security and not a gated/restricted property. Reason 2 - Insanely noisy air conditioner, usually I enjoy a nice fan noise but wow very very noisy in room 309. Woke me up out of a dead sleep and actually departed the hotel, in the middle of the night at 12:02am to another hotel. Over all nice rooms, spacious, with a simple kitchen and full size fridge. Clean.

Simple accommodations. The room needed a deep clean. The surfaces were generally clean, but the carpet, shower floor, and furniture were grimy. The fireplace didn’t work, and the door had issues locking securely. Service was excellent, but someone needs to keep up with the maintenance.

We had 6 of us in one of the 2 bedroom suites and there was plenty of room. The front desk staff was very helpful and the room was clean. Everything worked in the kitchen and we cooked a nice meal there one day. The beds in the bedrooms were very comfortable and everyday we had the right number of towels without asking for more. The hot breakfast was fine and had a number of healthy choices--eggs, fruit, plain Greek yogurt. The hotel was sold out the nights we were there but it was surprising how quiet it was. I would recommend this hotel!

Garbage. Dont stay here if you need internet for work. I had to stay at motel 6 in yje middle of kansas last week and got WAY better internet. I even paid the 5 dollar premium internet service charge 3.4% packet loss, 15% packets were late, 104 ms latency, and 87 jitter. I needed to go find a McDonald's to hold a zoom meeting. DONT STAY HERE

I booked an overpriced two room suite for $4,036.10 for the weekend. We arrived and saw several homeless people roaming the property. We checked in and the room had a horrible chemical odor- we were all sick to our stomach. The toilet didn't flush. We asked for another room- they offered to CHARGE us for another room! We left and checked into a different hotel. 24 hours later they offered to clean the room again (not fix the toilet). They said "use it, or lose it" as far as a refund goes. I lost $4,000, the manager, Patricia is rude and dismissive. Avoid this hotel!!!!
