Renaissance Newark Airport Hotel

I’m genuinely confused about how this hotel justifies charging over $30 per night for parking when finding an actual parking space is nearly impossible. It appears that most of the lot is being used for airport parking, leaving paying hotel guests to circle endlessly with no solution offered. The removal of the on‑site restaurant is another disappointment, as it leaves guests with no option other than delivery. For a full‑service brand, this feels like a significant downgrade. To be fair, the fitness center is excellent—one of the best I’ve seen in a hotel. Unfortunately, that’s the only standout feature. The front desk also seems overwhelmed, especially when large groups arrive. I watched a busloads of people checking in through the Marriott Bonvoy line despite not being Bonvoy members

This hotel met every need we had! Nice dark quiet room. Appreciated the complimentary upgrade to a room with a couch. Lots of plug ins and usb ports. Shower has good pressure and soap and shampoo were phenomenal. ||Every staff member encountered was smiling , helpful, and went out of their way to make our stay special. ||We came in knowing no restaurant on site but door dash delivered a great meal in 20 minutes by bicycle for about $20. ||All was perfect. Shuttle driver Raymond was there for us!

The hotel location is fine. It is connected with the airport by shuttle limo every 30 minutes, 24/7. It is two mile away from Elizabeth Station, not a long rideshare but definitely not walkable. No water in the suite. We were surprised to find this fact from a Renaissance Hotel and we were told the boss of the hotel wants to reduce the cost so a lot of programs are cut down. This definitely explains why half of the amenity are shut down, including the resturant and the bar. The gym is on but the water fountain is out of maintenance. In general, it is fine for a night at the airport.

(Titanium elite) I booked through Marriott booking for work because i needed the government employee rate and they accommodated that which was great, but when described to me I was told there was a restaurant and a status room like the "M Club"and microwave. I'm on a 10 day stay, so having a restaurant, a microwave and breakfast are important to me. I get there and was told the restaurant closed years ago and the club room doesn't cook food, they literally have chips, fruit, breakfast bars soda and water and NO COFFEE and NO BREAKFAST. So now I know I have to make a Walmart run, but wait I get up to my room and THERES NO MICROWAVE in the rooms 😂. I was told there are 2 community microwaves that can be used, but I wasn't bringing hungry man dinners down to heat up and return back to my room

The hotel room was absolutely disgusting. The room has a smoke stench to it. When I went to take a shower, I found curly black hair everywhere. After wiping them up myself, I went to take a shower and the shower would not drain. By the time I was done, the water was up to my ankles. I have stayed in roadside motels cleaner and more up to date than this hotel. When brought up to the front desk they offered to comp one night of parking. I felt disgusting after my stay there before leaving for vacation. I specifically booked this hotel to make a seamless trip easier but would never ever stay here again. Severely disappointed in the service received at a MARRIOTT.
