Red Roof Inn Fredericksburg South

I booked 3 nights here as I travel around the state often. This was my first time staying at this location. I was greeted with "if you book online there's a $100 deposit" never had that happen before at a red roof inn. The owner was extremely rude to us and talked to us as if we were some riff Raff. We put the $100 down because we're not going to do anything to the room to warrant no deposit back... But we shall see check out is tomorrow. We got the room, we did request smoking... The room smelled so bad like burnt hair when we entered. The walls were yellow and brown, the outlets look like they have and will catch fire. There's mold, water stains, no ventilation in the bathroom, the hotels are gross in this part of town, but I was expecting better due to how up and coming the area actuall

The rooms were VERY dirty. After walking back and forth across the room, my socks were black. The room had an old musty smell and furniture was heavily soiled. The front desk employee was very friendly. If they could just improve the cleanliness of the rooms and update the furniture, I would give them a better review. It was pretty rundown, but acceptable for a one night stay.

I wanted to share my experience with you regarding my recent stay at this particular hotel from October 10-13, 2024.||My wife and I checked in around 8 pm that night and were assigned a room on the first floor. A king bed room, non-smoking, our reservation was made online a week in advance. Upon entering the room we were absolutely appalled at the condition of the room. It was obviously a smoking room and the odor of cigarettes was overwhelming. There was no chairs, no sofa/loveseat, no table -- no where to sit other than the bed. It was nothing like the photos on the website. It was bare bones and stinky. As we surveyed the room further, we found the room did not look like it had been deep cleaned in months. I would recommend. One of the main reasons would be the other people that actually live there. Awesome company. They made me laugh for 2 weeks. My room was awesome I didn't think I would get a room like that when I checked in. And I'll finish I would recommend.
