Red Roof Inn Charlotte - Airport

First, these accommodations were made by American Airlines when our flight was delayed. It was not my choice. First, I was told by the front desk that I had to stand outside at the "zone one" sign even though I was traveling with a child the glass wall of the airport was right behind it so the view of approachment was visible. It was 42° and we had no coats, because our luggage had been lost and we were expecting to go back to our home. Upon entering the upstairs room, only accessible by the outside, the first observation was thr heating system had not been turned on. I turned it on to seventy five degrees and it was still very uncomfortable.When it came time to sleep, we took the extra bedding off of the spare bed and put it on one we shared. Positive: The room was clean and in good condition.Staff were friendly. The low price. Negative: The airport shuttle service was very limited so we could not use it coming from or going to the airport. We had to get a taxi both ways. There was no crib or pack and play available for our 18 month old so he had to sleep in bed with us.

Our flight was delayed, causing us to miss our connection. The airline put us up here at Red Roof. Questionable area, all outside rooms and this hotel is OLD. The 'lobby' was small and dingy. It took 45 minutes for us to check in. There were 3 people in front of us also checking in. And the one woman directly in front of us wanted to know if they had any rooms available and can the desk clerk show her which rooms have the parking lot cameras? We were sure she wasn't looking for security. Fortunately for us, the airline kept our luggage because we had just come off a cruise and there was no way we would have been able to carry our bags up the stairs (no elevator). There was a discard slice of pizza on the the up. | First thing I did was check the mattresses before we even put our bags down.

Absolutely the worse. I will never book Red Roof again. and I will never recommend this place to anyone. First, the key wouldn’t work. So the clerk let us in with master key but told us that one of us would have to stay in the room at all times because he wouldn’t be coming back out to unlock it again. Then, no heat in the room. We literally used the hair dryer under the sheets to stay warm. This was during a snowstorm and it was 18 degrees outside. Then no hot water. Then the worst part. I had to leave the next morning to get a rental car. My wife checked out at 11 but was told to wait outside til I returned. They would not let her wait in the lobby. It was well below freezing outside. If I could I would give this place a negative 1000. They should be shut down and this hotel be condemned

This place is SKETCHY. American airlines thought it was a good idea to put my pregnant wife and I in what was obviously not a good place to be. The room we got was recently updated and seemed fine but there were people lurking everywhere and it felt like a hot spot. On the way there the shuttle driver told us it wasn’t the best place to walk around and suggested it wasn’t safe. 5 minutes later 2 cop cars showed up and arrested someone a few rooms down. My wife and I called the Marriott to come pick us up and we left immediately. On a positive note, the pupusas next door were really good.
