Red Carpet Inn & Suites New Cumberland, PA

I booked for a week, they put me in a room with holes in the walls, air conditioner didn't work, microwave didn't work. This room should have went to someone for 1 night not a week. The wifi sucked couldn't do my work for work. The staff was friendly. And the rooms or hotel looks nothing like the pics they share on website

I often take a room at the Red Carpet Inn. ||It looks like they've reduced their rates from last year. I believe they are more interested in hosting customers than keeping up with the trends of posh hotels, levels of poshness that costs them customers -- and their rates have become affordable to more spending budgets. ||They also offer weekly rates lower than all hotels except one in Dauphin and Cumberland counties.||The morning continental breakfast (cereals, coffee, breads) is nice for the early birds. Good coffee. The coffee is one of my criteria for judgment ha ha ha.||The weather is cold this week. The heater works so well that I had to turn it off or open the door. This place is absolutely disgusting and I strongly wouldn't recommend it to anyone. Rooms are very dirty and have a mold smell to them. There are plenty of other good cheap motels/hotels within the area.

My husband needed a place to stay for a couple of weeks for cheap. The owner took him on a tour of the grounds and was actually pretty nice. He owns the Days Inn and the Red Carpet Inn that are on the same property. My husband accepted a room on the Red Carpet side because it had a fridge, stove, and microwave in the room. The room reeked of old cigarette smoke and mildew. The floors were disgusting and the appliances were from the 60's or 70's. Again, my husband chose to stay here because it was so cheap and had a kitchenette, and figured he could suffer through it since he would be gone at work for 12 hours a day. However on the 3rd day, as he was stepping out of the stand up shower, he saw a rat the size of a cat on the floor before it ran under the sink and through a hole in the wall.

We have stayed here several weekends in the past 1 and 1/2 years and will keep going back. They have put in brand new TV's and have fridge and microwave in rooms. Very clean bedding and nice large rooms. They have a wonderful friendly staff. Everyone who greets you is very friendly and accommodating. They also have a hot breakfast which is very good, better than most breakfast diners. We will continue to go here whenever we are in this area.
