Quality Inn & Suites Abingdon

I recently stayed at the Quality Inn in Abingdon, and my experience was surprisingly great from start to finish. To be honest, I wasn’t expecting much when I first booked, but this place turned out to be a hidden gem. The check-in process was quick and smooth, and the staff immediately stood out with how friendly and welcoming they were. It felt like they genuinely cared about making sure I was comfortable, which isn’t something you always find at hotels in this price range. The room was clean, quiet, and had everything I needed for a relaxing stay. The bed was comfortable, and I appreciated the little details like plenty of pillows and a spotless bathroom. It's in the details! Hotels that manage well, hire good people, and keep the hotel clean, repaired, and up to date usually are the best. This hotel could be but they fail in a lot of areas. Pros...above average beds, average breakfast, and decent location. Cons..no one at front desk to check us in, bathrooms in lobby were a disaster, toilet in room filthy, tub stopper broken, no hand sanitizer in the entire hotel, no shampoo or conditioner in shower, etc.

We stayed here last year twice. Early 2025 and late 2025. I sent a review last year and it was still very nice. However early in 2025, it was in my opinion the nicest Quality Inn I had ever stayed in. It was still nice the end of this year, but seeing a slight change in minor things that worry me. Lobby rugs not as spotless. Water table gone in lobby gone. Nothing spectacular, but worrisome

Our room was clean, comfortable, quiet and spacious. A plentiful breakfast included eggs, sausage, biscuits, sausage gravy, waffles, bagels, muffins, cereal and more. The friendly staff made check-in and check-out pleasant. We were very pleased with our stay and would return if in the Abingdon area again.

The hotel is severely dirty and understaffed. It took 20 minutes to even check in because the poor desk clerk was helping another guest and there was clearly no one else on staff in the entire building. This was at 6pm and the line was out the door. Phone calls went unanswered when I tried to call the hotel. My room had some extremely unsavory stains on the bed; it looked like the room hadn’t been cleaned. It was truly gross and sad. I have loved staying here for the last decade and I really don’t like the thought of having to find a new hotel for my long trips, but this place has really fallen far from how nice it once was. For the money you’d think you’d get much nicer lodgings.
