Quality Inn Rutland - Killington

Low quality hotel in cleanliness, stained towels, full of hair and old, room smelling of cigarettes, had only two pillows, dirty bed, TV and dirty mirrors. To be bad, the hotel would have to improve a lot.

I am not a fan. Hallways smell like smoke, and some of the side doors are broken and the key cards will not open, forcing you to walk through the front door and all the way down the hall if your room is to the back of the hotel. The room I stayed in could have been really nice, but the things that were wrong with it were really bad. The phone literally had no numbers in it to push, and didn't work at all. The curtains were half off the rods, and didn't work. The bathroom wasn't the cleanest. The lights over the bed didn't work at all. There really isn't anything given for breakfast (not a huge deal, but they say that they have breakfast.) I stayed a week, and couldn't get housekeeping to change my bedding, even though I asked them to please change it when they could. I was willing to leave

The service was really the best aspect of this stay - super friendly staff who took a serious interest in the appearance of the room, and who were happy to give me a few toiletries I'd forgotten to pack. The room was pretty standard, somewhat dirty around the edges but overall comfortable. I was looking forward to a hot breakfast, but there was something about the smell of the sausage and eggs that really didn't seem right and turned my stomach. There were plenty of other cold breakfast choices. Overall a pleasant stay, and for the price I don't think much more could be expected.

The staff were friendly and helpful before and during our stay. My son and husband enjoyed the hotel pool, almost like a large hot tub! The bed was super soft. For me, that's not a positive attribute, but maybe others prefer a soft, soft bed. The shower had hot water and good pressure, but it was best to close my eyes as it didn't look very clean. We would have been happier on the second floor, so that we didn't hear other guests walking around on the floor above us. Maybe the breakfast would have been a great feature, but we had to depart very early in the morning so missed it.

First, I want to be clear: the cleaning staff here was wonderful, and they were the most friendly of people. The pool itself was amazing, and it was great to be able to get an enjoyable evening swim in. Everything else, from the desk service, the morning breakfast, everything else, was very poor. Facilities looked run down and in need of a serious update or some TLC, and desk staff was incredibly rude or uncaring. I have stayed at a number of Quality Inns in my past, and I am very sorry to say, this was the worst one. I normally love this hotel chain for the price point and quality, but please, put some more love into this particular one!
