Quality Inn Portsmouth

Ended up here for two nights with my two kids as my husband had an emergency visit to the Portsmouth hospital. Although location is excellent and staff friendly I regret not spending more money going somewhere else. We recently stayed at the Best Western in Stowe and I had expected a similar experience. This hotel is very old and needs updating, the TV is so obsolete and I wasn’t able to turn on a movie for my kids and no option to log in to Netflix. There’s NO soundproofing, we could hear every neighbor talk and laugh until midnight in addition to hearing the elevator every time it stopped all night long. I wanted a pace with a pool for my kids and the pool was fine. We had limited items with us so we had to use the room products. The conditioner was so bad I could not brush my daughter’s

Lovely staff, great breakfast & clean and very comfortable room. Great location for our needs. Staff were extremely pleasant and helpful. Best free breakfast we have ever had at any hotel. Only issue was the bed. I’m not sure if it was designed to be “pillow-soft” or it was simply worn out, but my back hurt after one night. Otherwise a great choice in a good location at a good price.

Front desk staff were friendly and cheerful during the check in/out process. Location is very good with places to eat and shop nearby. The rooms were clean, however, the bathrooms are in need of some serious updating! Again, can't say enough about the friendliness of the staff that we encountered during our stay. Breakfast in the morning was good compared to others that offer breakfast with your stays.

Been staying at this hotel for better than 30 years. Never had a problem with noise until this past stay. Yelling, clapping, whistling and other noises I can't describe at 3:30 AM. I called the desk and they sent someone up right away, but by then we were pretty much awake for the day. We spoke to them at the desk, because we had 2 more nights and didn't want this to happen again. They were good with changing our room. The hotel has become kind of a base camp for workers in the area on weekdays. We realize that the hotel has to do what it can to keep the rooms full, especially in the off season. The staff here are great, and we make a point to visit with them when we stay. If i were to recommend this hotel to a friend I would have to mention the activity here in the morning. The good part

Our highest recommendation. We stayed for three nights at this top-notch excellent value property. The service was courteous and accommodating. We needed a quiet room, and were given one on the top floor at the end of the hall – perfect! The staff were all friendly and welcoming. There are two clean and inexpensive self-service washers, and two dryers. The supermarket is a convenient two-minute walk. The included breakfast was good: scrambled eggs, breakfast meat, instant oatmeal, waffles, etc. The bathtub has a rubber mat. The room was clean, but the top surface of the AC/heating unit was noticeably dingy and needed a deep scrub. The indoor pool is large, but quite cold. We would give it more than five stars, but that’s the maximum TripAdvisor allows.
