Quality Inn and suites

Hello, We stayed one night the last week of October 2025. It was dark and rainy and we needed to stop because of weather. It was just my young adult daughter, myself and our service animal. I am very aware of safety. The location felt tucked away and I saw people with kids on their hips hanging around smoking outside. When I went in the gal at the service desk was very pleasant and accomodating. She said she felt very safe working there and didn't have any problems feeling safe. We got the room, going down the hallway smelled terrible but once we got to our room there was no odor. The window just had a view of an alleyway between the hotel and there was old furniture and mattresses stacked up. We kept the drapes closed. Front desk was very friendly and professional but rooms were gross. Visibly not cleaned well, but also it just smelled like carpets or other permanent fabric items had not been cleaned in a long time, if ever. Toilet didn't work (sprayed out water from behind) and sink water was brown. We came in exhausted at 2 a.m. booking the only 2 rooms available in the same hotel in the entire city. We just needed to sleep for a few hours to get back on the road and almost couldn't stomach it. Exhaustion won, we stayed and decided to just sleep on the side of the road if need be, when passing back through to not run into a similar situation. Positive: Given how bad the overall atmosphere was, the room was surprisingly better. Negative: The hotel needs some major renovation inside out. The hallways are very dirty and smelly. The breakfast was terrible. Even the outside was dirty and broken.

The property was in need of repairs and seems poorly maintained. The sheets were threadbare and had holes in them. Behind the furniture was very dusty and there were so many items plugged into each outlet that I'm truly amazed it hasn't started a fire. The male on duty (manager??) made no effort to interact with any of the customers - his head was permanently stuck in his phone. Breakfast offerings were scant. This property does not deserve to be in the Choice family of lodgings - not even at the EconoLodge level. We will never stay there again.

First room we were booked, the heater didn't work. It only blew cold air. The ceiling above the shower had a big bubble in it and a hole in the painted ceiling. Furniture was very outdated, had pieces and sloppy paint covering over it on end tables. Room didn't look clean.
