Publick House Historic Inn

Room decor was a bit tired, but spacious. Would have liked a coffee pot, but not a big deal. We only spent one night. Overall the property was beautiful. We stayed in the motor lodge. There are several locations on property to stay.

We hosted a meeting for a regional New England club there and they were such a pleasure to work with! Prices are super reasonable, and the banquet event staff both in office and on site are so wonderful and helpful. The event had to be rescheduled due to weather concerns and they have a reasonable inclement weather policy and was very reachable and easy to work with! We got a meeting room that had a beautiful breakfast buffet set up for the event (with delicious waffles, pecan rolls, and sausage and eggs and bacon!) and the roomwas laid out thoughtfully. The staff who helped on site was super communicative and sweet and we appreciated the great service! Also easy on and off the highway, which was great. We stayed in the lodge for an overnight while traveling. |Our room was huge, a little tired but it was clean, the bed comfy, lovely view and we had everything we needed.|Dinner at the bar in the tavern was delicious and our drinks were top notch. The complimentary coffee and baked goods for breakfast were a plus.|The next morning about an hour after we had left my husband realized he had forgotten his vest in the room. He called the Inn and they couldn’t have been more helpful offering to mail the vest as soon as possible. We received it within the week.

​A Perfect Holiday Meal! Highly Recommend! ​What a great Thanksgiving dinner! We were seated right on time, and the special buffet was exceptional. They had a fantastic mix of dishes, but the juicy turkey was definitely the highlight. I particularly enjoyed the sides: the green beans were flavorful with a delicious mushroom sauce, and the apple salad was a wonderful, fresh addition. The dessert selection was top-notch; the pies were yummy, and I even bought an apple pie to take home. I also couldn't resist buying some of their pecan rolls, which were served warm—a must-try! The front dining room was lovely and set a cozy, intimate atmosphere for the holiday meal.

Wonderful historic inn. If you stay in the old part the floors are uneven and squeaky but to me that's part of the charm. You get fresh made pastries and coffee each morning. The motor lodge is more like a standard basic hotel. The restaurant serves wonderful comfort food. They do host lots of weddings.
