Old Sturbridge Inn & Reeder Family Lodges

This place was fabulous. We stayed here this past weekend (Mother's Day). Room was very large, very clean, beautifully decorated. Beds and linens very comfortable. Large, two-sick bathroom. Free breakfast, but most importantly quiet. Separate houses/units meant you didn't have the noise of fellow guests coming in late, getting in early, or running up and down the hallways. Would definitely return and recommend. Woman who worked the front desk very nice and loved the free chocolate cookies. Just a great find, all around!

Nice old spot, near everything, very old inn, interesting old rooms. The front door to the Bldg we were in was hard to open, with card key, but worked. Comfy bed. A good spot. No one in office though, after we checked in, to assist. I think they should have someone there on more regular hours. Things happen. But, I liked the place and it's old world charm and near Old Sturbridge and regular Sturbridge.

We stayed in the main (Old) Inn. It was as expected. Great large 4-post bed, super comfortable. The room was large but only had one chair, no fridge or microwave, and a small LCD TV. The bathroom was nice and fairly updated. The pool was a good size and very clean. Excellent location for Old Sturbridge Village. Would probably stay. The office staff could be a little more friendly.

Wonderful property. Well-kept and very comfortable with a resort feel. The lodges are very well-designed and placed, so that each side has an entrance to only two rooms. It feels like you're staying at a condo complex or a private home. The grounds are lovely with old trees and a resort-like feel. The room was spacious, with windows on three sides which again, makes you feel like you're in a private home. It was so nice to stay in a place with real furniture and wallpaper rather than a beige, plastic corporate hotel. We enjoyed the pool which is tucked into the woods and played 19th century games on the lawn. The breakfast was standard fare, but the dining room was nicely decorated with hooked rugs and wide floor boards. The staff were very helpful and keep the place in excellent shape.

Pros: It's close to the old village (10 min walk or short drive). It's very picturesque, the accomodation faces each other on a green with wandering geese and rabbits. Friendly, helpful staff (Emily). The room was spacious, clean and had everything we needed. Aircon worked well in the summer. Cons: If you're looking for historical experience, most of the accommodation is late 20th century motel made to look oldy-style. The shower room / toilet is tiny (too small to dry off / change) and definitely needs a refit. The pool was covered / closed (in August) with no explanation. The 'continental breakfast' is self-serve coffee and a muffin – just say what it is! The booking system is very old-fashioned too, with email requests for the booking and telephone payment.
