Warning! Whatever you do, make sure to book online! They will tell you that they will charge the same if you book in person but it’s not true. I tried this once and the rate was considerably higher. The online price is good but it is in a sketchy neighborhood. Maybe not a good choice for women traveling alone. There is a very surly and bitter man, usually at reception during the day, who seems to enjoy making people uncomfortable. He will make you feel that he’s doing you a favor by taking your money. I got to the point where I put off simple requests when he was on duty. Not pet friendly! Our dog had to stay In our car, unfortunately we couldn’t afford to stay anywhere else due to losing everything to a fire and no renters insurance. I’m a single mom of 3 doing it alone and haven’t been able to work for 3 yrs so when we have been living in motels and shelters for the past couple months we couldn’t afford anything fancier than this place. On a positive note there was no deposit, we had a place to sleep inside with heat, a shower, fridge, microwave, and privacy to spend some time together as a family for just a couple days that we could afford. All the staff was very unfriendly, rude, nosey, and very very poor mannered with no respect or decency towards a family who is going thru a traumatic time. This motel is absolutely ridiculous. The receptionist was crazy rude. Even asking us for the pincode of our credit card?! Takes ages to find our room. Sketchy types hanging around the parking lot. Rooms look like crackspots. The walls and the doors are scratched an stained. The locks are broken. The peephole is stuffed with a tissue. There are holes in the bedding. The bathroom is absolutely disgusting, full of mold and yellow and brown stains. The ceilings are yellow brown because of the smoke. And the room reeks of tobacco. The bed itself is extremely shabby and squeaks upon every move. The motel is extremely noisy. You can hear every move and every step. Terrible terrible experience. We stay here A LOT! It may not be the most wholesome or "SFW" hotel, the staff's willingness to meet people where they are at and their EXTREME patience for difficult, oftentimes vicious clientele has firmly placed the Portland Inn close to my heart... it's either that or I've become desensitized to trailer park shenanigans and ALLEGEDLY illegal whoo haw thats plays out like a comfy Sunday afternoon in my mind... I'm certain we will never know fo' sho'! 😋🤫

Positive: Nothing Negative: The floor was squishy and felt like I was going to fall through it. The sink was cracked. There were unpatched holes in the wall. The tv didn’t work. It was 100 degrees and the air conditioner was broken. And I had to pay $5 more than what I booked it 4
