Hotel Lucia

Hotel Lucia is in a part of downtown that is somewhat quieter than the usual fanfare and yet close enough to the good eateries. It’s just about ten minutes away by walk to the Old Town, and five minutes walk from the Pioneer Square. Many bus as team lines run in this area for you to get out of town. My only suggestion is to have hot water served at the lobby drinks table throughout the day. And also I would have liked a pair of slippers too.

Great location, the atmosphere had something interesting in every corner, and booking as part of the Hilton network - I knew this was going to be amazing. Loved knowing my partner and I were in an LGBT friendly hotel from the get go. We stayed in the Gallery Suite, and could not have been happier with the accommodations - fireplace, fantastic bed, two full bathrooms, dining table - it was perfect to just relax and get away from everything. Huge props to Sisi at the front desk - if you needed help, she was on top of it! Fantastic experience and will definitely stay again when back in town.

Very cozy rooms with comfortable beds. The front desk folks were very friendly and super helpful. Even the valet helped unload our luggage! The have two free pinball games to play and a old school street fighter arcade cabinet. Apparently they rotate out the games periodically, which is super cool. Also from 5-6 they have a free happy hour for hotel guests. Three options: an ipa, a seltzer and a NA rootbeer.

This is a really unique gem of a place in downtown Portland, just a couple blocks off Pioneer Courthouse Square. They took a historic building shell and filled it with modern art in the lobby, and overall a photography theme, featuring the works of David Hume Kennerly. The hallways are lined with famous photographs from his career, too. Definitely a place you go if you love photography--they even have a lounge room off the lobby filled with antique cameras.||As for the rooms, they are a bit small, but also filled with all the luxury comforts like a huge, fluffy king bed and a completley remodeled and gleaming bathroom. Still, though, it had a really retro feel, with a vintage radio, odd lamps, and such. I loved that balance of old and new.||The hotel also has a nice perk: their daily

Decided to spend New Years in Portland (from Eugene) and selected a hotel based on price - no expectations. Well, were we EVER surprised!! Hotel Lucia turned out to be a beautifully styled Boutique Hotel for such an inexpensive price. And upon checking in with Satveer, who was tremendously welcoming and helpful, we discovered that Sisi, the woman with whom I originally spoke on the phone about the reservation, had surprisingly upgraded us to a gorgeous Suite, complete with a handwritten card welcoming us and accompanied by a bottle of wine and candies! We were BLOWN AWAY!!! It’s as if we were treated like royalty! Thank you from our hearts, Sisi, for the most unexpected gift that absolutely started our New Year off with such love!
