Pine Point Lodge

We recently had a family get-together at Pine Point Lodge. The accommodations were outstanding! It was a perfect place to spend several days. The cabins were clean and had everything we needed. It was everything we were hoping for. The setting of the cabins right beside White Iron Lake is beautiful. Our grandchildren loved the swimming area and several members of our family used the boats provided to go fishing. Kathy and John Schiefelbein were great hosts and all of the staff was friendly. We will certainly return to Pine Point Lodge whenever we can.

The owners of Pine Point Lodge also run a top notch outfitting business and are among the most experienced, knowledgeable and successful resort owners/outfitters in this beautiful area of northern Minnesota. I spent several weeks at Pine Point every summer with my family for nearly 20 years until we decided to become property owners ourselves. Now I visit John and Kathy every year and am always blown away by how lovely and perfectly maintained and updated the property is. My grown children and other family members share such warm and enduring memories of our summers at Pine Point Lodge--fishing, swimming, hiking, canoeing, berry picking, and exploring the incredible Boundary Waters wilderness and delightful nearby town of Ely.

The cabins are very cute and was "spotless" no tv, internet or wifi-yea! Just us and nature!! A fishing boat came with the cabin which was a plus, also a bbq grill! We were only 50 feet from the lake and had a beautiful view out the picture window! ||||John and Kathy Schiefelbein were so very accommodating and sent someone over immediately to fix any problems! Their employees were also very hard working young people and seemed very knowledgeable about the camp and the best fishing spots!

I have visited Pine Point many times. I stayed at Silver Rapids one year, and was disappointed by their rude staff. John and Kathy at Pine Point are awesome people. They always hire excellent staff who are friendly and more than willing to make your experience great! The cabins are not the Holiday Inn, but they are well appointed, with a full kitchen of pots, pans, utensils, glasses, etc. Clean rooms. There is no better place to experience the wilderness feeling. At night, the loons will lull you to sleep. Boat is included in the price, and when you rent a motor, gas is also included. Close enough to Ely for quick trips, but outside of town for quiet reflection. Rustic in the right way. Bring your own towels, but otherwise...it's all great.

The whole family LOVED our stay. Lots to do and see. Great free kayaks and lake trampoline. We rented the pontoon and explored Birch Lake. Ely was fun to explore also: Dorothy Molter and Wolf Museums and lots of shops. We also kayaked at Bear Head Lake State Park. All the staff we pleasant and helpful. We will definitely sat here when we come here again.
