Palmer Gulch

We did the one hour ride today and it was our second time here. Just as fun as the first time. The staff are awesome and so great at what they do! Kelsey was our guide and she made it very enjoyable. Riding is relaxing for us and today was no different. If you are looking for a place to go and ride w/ a guide on a trail- book a ride here. You won’t be sorry! Kids will love it also!

This is quite the place for family travel! The activities, play places, Gaga ball, swimming etc. kept the kids busy for hours!! Place is well kept. We got to attend the rodeo which was a blast. Horse riding was totally worth it. Our guide Mya was so sweet with my kids. Restaurant was so good. Recommend patty melt and seasoned fries. The place itself was worth it but the lodge room could be improved upon. Stayed 4 nights. They don't provide much at all in toiletry. Bar soap, tiny shampoo, no conditioner. room outdated and dim. Water was clearly treated but poorly. Slide, one hot tub, all tub/sink/toilet was straight up orange/rust color water. It was gross. Improved on last day. Regardless, would go back in a heart beat.

Second time staying here, tons to do at the campground but get ready for a sea of unsupervised children to be everywhere! The campground has some serious drainage issues, so if it rains get ready for some nasty puddles! Pro tip, bring walkie-talkies because there is literally no signal with Verizon or T-mobile. Also there are horses that you can ride, there was a guide named Olivia that was amazing!

We stayed here last year and it is one of my favorite campgrounds! It's like a village. We went horseback riding, ate at the restaurants, had delicious wine slushies, and were close to Mt Rushmore. It's a huge beautiful place. 😍

A terrific experience!!! If you want authentic cowboys for entertainment and a horse drawn wagon, AMAZING food and priceless memories, the Chuck Wagon Dinner is worth EVERY dollar! I wish I would've known we could take a trail ride to dinner - we would've done that for my horse-loving daughter. But the wagon ride was good too .
