Customer Reviews
Know this: The cabins are much smaller than in the pictures and closer to each other. Now with that over, the place met all of our expectations and the service was great. Our kids LOVED the pasture area and the cabin feel (we have our own at home). The amenities were good, with a few suggestions below. The location was fantastic, only a mile from town but it felt country. We recommend anyone stay here who want a cabin near Hill City! Recommendations: Put in a Keurig maker because ground coffee isn't as popular these days. The tub is great but the curtain has gaps, so showering is a chore. Make sure there are enough outlets to charge customers devices.
Stayed for three nights in the Harney View Cabin. Very convenient location for Rushmore, Crazy Horse, Custer State Park. Also within a 60 minute ride to Deadwood and the Badlands. Our host Jennie contacted us about our arrival time and greeted us shortly upon arrival. 5 minute ride to nice little town of Hill City with lots of shops and restaurants. Cabin was perfect with two bedrooms. We had a beautiful view of the mountain from our porch in the Adirondack rocking chairs.
I highly recommend Newton Fork Ranch!!! My husband and I visited from out of state for a long weekend, wanting to see Mt. Rushmore and Crazy Horse. We stayed for 3 nights beginning of May. Weather was perfect. Highs in the low 70s and lows in the 40s. Chilly overnight, but beautiful during the day. When searching for lodging, I knew I wanted to be out in nature, not in a hotel. I researched many cabins in the area - most of them were in areas right by a highway or the cabins were set very close to each other. Newton Fork Ranch is unique in that they only have 9 cabins, and they are spread out from each other which provides more privacy and serenity. There are only two cabins that are somewhat close to each other: Timber Haus and Meadow Song. We stayed in Timber Haus, and it was heav
We booked ahead from the UK based purely on reviews and photos. Approaching Hill City from the airport, I started to get really worried seeing all the holiday camps advertising 'cabins' strewn along the main highways. Nothing close to the slice of peace and tranquillity I was looking for. The relief was tangible, turning the corner in the road to see the entrance to Newton Fork Ranch and the beautiful lush green meadow beyond. Just a handful of cabins arranged around the perimeter, each given plenty of space and oriented to ensure privacy and a view from the balcony. The cabin was light, airy, comfortable and equipped with everything we needed. The large windows affording a view of the meadow even when inside. During the days spent in and around Hill City I came to appreciate just how uniq
Gorgeous property, cozy and well equipped cabins, excellent location. We loved our stay at the Harney View cabin. It was just what we needed for our family of 6 for our spring break trip to South Dakota. It was close to everything yet remote enough to enjoy being away from civilization. The temperature was well below freezing when we were there but the cabin remained warm and cozy and the whole family appreciated the never-ending hot water. Our pup was able to stay warm and cozy while we took in the sights during the day and the night sky was a treat for astronomy fans. We will definitely return for longer next time. Thank you Jennie for the hospitality!
