Mountain View Lodge & Cabins

We absolutely loved our stay at Mountain View Lodge—it felt like a cozy home away from home nestled right in the heart of Hill City's stunning scenery. From the moment we arrived, everything about this place screamed thoughtful design and genuine hospitality.||The rooms were impeccably clean, with spaces that made the most of every inch—clever storage solutions, natural light flooding in, and a layout that just flows perfectly for unwinding after a day of exploring Mount Rushmore or Custer State Park. Stepping outside onto the expansive deck was pure magic, too: tons of seating for lazy afternoons, and that fire pit? It became our evening ritual, roasting marshmallows under the stars while the Black Hills whispered around us. The beds? Oh man, they were a dream—super comfy with the plushes

Great find. A cabin like small town like friendly people and owners like happy place. We enjoyed the the clean and attractive rooms and spotless bathroom. So many towels and cozy beds and bedding. We decided to not do a chain and this place surpassed our needs. The location and Access to parks and monuments was excellent and just a quick short drive to town. Rode the Mickelson trail. Highly recommend the Lodge for all wanting a feel good retreat. Big thanks to the owners Melissa and Cary who were kind and helpful. Their pride in the Lodge is readily apparent

We stayed at Mountain View in August 2025. Everything was clean and so nice. We especially enjoyed the outdoor deck area and fire table. Cary & Melissa were so helpful and wonderful hosts!

😊: Lovely lodge and very welcoming hosts! Great communication throughout and perfect location! Kids were thrilled to meet Chester and the coffee was an absolute treat. We would have loved to stay longer.

Great two nights staying at the Mountain View Lodges. My dad and I stayed there to ride motorcycles around the black hills. We met both owners who were incredible accommodating and nice to talk to during breakfast in the morning. They have done a lot of work to really make this place a cozy place to stay. The gas fire stove on the deck was a great addition and they even have a wood fire pit (we didn't use it). Great central spot for the black hills. AC blew cold, breakfast consisted of pastries and coffee. They lodge was located across the street from Dairy Delight and a gas station within walking distance
