OYO Hotel Portland OR near Airport

Positive: Nothing Negative: The window in the bathroom did not lock. Any one could have broken in! Very poor acomadation!

I was really happy with my room, it was great considering the price. It’s super affordable, the front office lady was kind, and the room was very clean. The pillows were fluffy and the bed was comfortable. I stayed in a bedroom suite that had a kitchenette complete with an oven & range, microwave, fridge & freezer, and everything worked great. It is an older building, so it’s not super pretty or modern, but it was great for what it cost.

My family accepts this hotel (despite its ample warts -- worn-out rooms, adjacent super-noisy freight train tracks) because its 2 bedroom suite works well for the size of our group. We recently booked a fully-prepaid night in this property, in a 2 bedroom suite. But when we arrived, the hotel had assigned all of its 2 bedroom suites to others. They downgraded us to a regular room with no refund -- and when we pursued a credit card chargeback, they had the gall to say no refund was payable. They did not reply to the Oregon Attorney General's consumer protection team. We may have to pursue small claims court. Ridiculous. Look elsewhere. This property is well-priced. And if you can accept the very noisy freight trains, all through the nights, it may meet your needs. My family reserved and prepaid a two-room suite, which is what we needed due to the size of our group. The property ran out of these rooms -- selling them to other customers -- and downgraded us to a regular room. Since then, we've had puzzling difficulty getting the refund to which we are obviously entitled. OYO corporate denies a refund is payable. Property, to its credit, concedes a refund is due -- but refuses to pay it out. Complaint to Oregon Attorney General and credit card issuer (chargeback) pending. What a mess! All because the hotel didn't honor our prepaid reservation -- fundamentally their fault.

Im suing this establishment for many reasons. But the main reason is the scam at the front desk attenpting to force you to give a deposit when the reservation specif8cally says "no extra fees, deposits or etc" when booking the reservation. Ive been talking with others whi have been scammed by the lady at the front desk who i will not name here but she is named in the lawsuit. The lawyers want to open this up to a class action lawsuit as this has impacted MULTIPLE individuals. I told the police about the lawsuit and they forwarded it to the FBI to further investigate.
