Outer Most Hostel

The location is incredible, next to the Pilgrim monument which is the most recognizable landmark in P-town. A short walk to Commercial St, the Pier, the beach. It's all super close. ||There aren't many affordable places to stay this close to downtown Provincetown. Understand that this is a hostel and not a motel/hotel, so have the right expectations. It is run by a small family for 35 years. They do not have 24/hr service, but they are caring and attentive people :)||The shared cabins are spacious and in the shade. They have a bathroom / shower in each one which was a nice surprise. If you go with a group you are likely to get your own unit. ||It's a very diverse and accepting atmosphere. We met some other international travelers during out stay and had a blast!

Stayed here on a bike trip with friends, and it's a very no frills kind of place, but that is what we were looking for. It's super close to everything and cheap to stay. The free parking alone is worth something! It's owned and operated by a small family so things are kind of self service, but the owners live on the property and are super nice people! We made friends with some travelers in another cabin and had an amazing weekend.

Stayed in many hostels before and this was without a doubt the worst experience. Not sure what the other reviewer meant by a European-style hostel because this was certainly not it. Nobody to be found at arrival, office was closed. Waited outside for a good portion of the hour before someone came by. Bunk beds are very close together, cabins were humid (no AC) and needed to be aired out. Linens were old and rough. Better than sleeping outside on a chilly night, but will not be coming back again.

I visited for 2 nights in late August, toward the end of the season. It was bare-bones, but exactly what I was looking for: safe, cheap, centrally-located, clean (enough), free parking. I was in a 6-person room (3 bunks), and there were 4 of us the first night and just me the second -- one bunk was occupied by a married couple, and I appreciated the owner checking with me to ensure I was fine with co-ed accommodations (I was, and the couple couldn't have been nicer). The owner is a bit unreliable -- she's only there during certain hours for check-in and wasn't even there when I arrived during that window, but she was friendly and welcoming when we did meet up. I'd absolutely stay there again -- the location can't be beat, and the other travelers I met were warm, interesting and welcom

It's cheap, that says it all. Keep expectations low and you won't be disappointed. It was kind of clean, sheets smelled like they were washed, shower was warm, no bugs and we didn't use the kitchen but it was there. Went for just 1 night, just for sleep. ||They only had bunk beds (6 a room) so that was quite disappointing. I think they had larger cabin's too for 2 persons. We asked on the forehand if there were mixed cabins, they told us it was mixed but upon arrival it turned out it was gender separate. Luckily the other people (a group of 4 girls) found it okay that I (a man) slept in their cabin with my girlfriend.||Distance to the center is about a 10 min walk.||||so conclusive: cheap for Ptown, it gets you a roof and a bed, nothing more, nothing less.
