8 Dyer Hotel + The Benchmark

Our second stay at 8 Dyer was as fabulous as the first! Penthouse 1 was immaculate, spacious, and comfortable. We had spectacular views no matter where we looked. Breakfast was yummy and plentiful. Dee, Shane, and Greg were warm and welcoming- we didn’t want to leave! Thanks for making our anniversary weekend special. I almost forgot- the cake pops were a fun treat!

My husband and I had another exceptional stay at 8Dyer over the new year. It was a bit like visiting old friends who anticipate your every need. Everything in the place sparkles, the rooms have every possible amenity (including Alexa in the room, an ample--and working--mini-fridge, and three sets of glasses in varying sizes) and it is clear that Steve and Shane and everyone who works there from preparing breakfast to tidying up is invested in the comfort of their guests. On top of it all, the central location is perfect: half a block from Commercial and Bradford Streets, just a block or two from McMillan Wharf. We can't wait to return!

My husband and I stayed at The Benchmark Inn, and it was by far the best inn we’ve ever stayed at! Steve was wonderful to speak with when booking, and Greg greeted us on arrival with a warm welcome and a tour of all the great amenities — a free snack bar with homemade treats, drinks, Nespresso coffee, and more, plus a sauna, hot tub, pool, and patio area. Our room was spotless, cozy, and beautifully designed, with top-quality toiletries and thoughtful touches. The location is perfect — an easy walk to all the restaurants, shops, and galleries downtown. A huge perk was the complimentary breakfast at Yolqueria, featuring amazing fresh, local food, delicious coffee, smoothies, and cocktails. Absolutely exceeded our expectations and fulfilled needs we didn’t know we had! Our whole family was in town for a wedding and 8 Dyer was absolutely perfect. Hosts were accommodating and attentive. Great loving room and excellent coffee & tea bar. Beds were very comfortable and breakfast was right around the corner at an awesome local spot (fully included in the price with tip). Our whole family raved about it. Amazing location. Everything is walkable! Would definitely return and recommend!

We had a wonderful stay at 8 Dyer. The hosts as well as the guests couldn't have been more welcoming. Everything was great. We appreciated the nicely decorated, very clean room we stayed in. We especially loved the home cooked breakfasts and afternoon snacks. Even the coffee and tea provided was exceptional!
