It is with the utmost pleasure and gratitude that my husband, Eric, and I share our exceptional experience at the Ocean Gate Inn. From the very moment we arrived, our stay was nothing short of extraordinary. We arrived in the early hours of the morning, around 2:00 AM, fully expecting a quiet and perhaps delayed check-in due to the hour. However, after ringing the doorbell, we were greeted within seconds by the gentleman at the front desk, who, despite having been asleep moments before, welcomed us with a warm smile and genuine kindness. His professionalism, attentiveness, and gracious demeanor immediately made us feel valued and at home. That level of hospitality is rare and deeply appreciated. Our room was equally remarkable. Perfect location, short walk to boardwalk. We only stayed one night on our roadtrip but this was the perfect stop. Bob the host could not have been more helpful and friendly. Large comfy bed, clean and we had a balcony overlooking the boardwalk. Exceptional value for money

The balcony alone is worth booking this place. My friend and I stayed at Ocean Gate Inn last night and honestly, I’m still reeling from the incredible view. We had a king room with a balcony, and it’s the exact same view you see on all the Santa Cruz postcards and T-shirts. It’s so perfect it almost doesn’t seem real, like a movie set. The room was comfortable and quiet (seriously—super soundproof), and both the elevator and ice machine actually worked, which is huge to me. What really made the experience stand out, though, was the front desk. Bob genuinely cared about our stay. Check-in was smooth, and when we decided to stay another night last minute, he got us taken care of fast so we could enjoy the extra time. Positive: The manager or owner was extremely nice and very welcoming. The location is amazing close to the Santa Cruz Boardwalk and the warf. Lots of close restaurant options Negative: No we had a great time and next time we are in the area plan on staying at the Ocean Gate

Loved staying here! The room was very clean, owner was very friendly and checking in and out was easy. The mini fridge, ac unit and tv all worked great. Will definitely be staying here again next time i visit!
